I'm not whining, I simply don't want the people I care about to be discriminated against by a bigot who will turn back history a good 60 years if he gets the White House. How you see it is your own business, but since mine involves a threatened group of people, I care more about their thoughts and opinions on the subject.

As for taking it personally, I'm pansexual. I'm also pro-choice, anti-death penalty, most of the people I care about are women, and some of my dearest friends are Muslim, some are gay, others are transgender. So yes, this is personal. I have to work to keep that bigot out of office, regardless of how entertaining it would be for others if he made it in.
If it means that much to you then instead of griping on a board that very few people see I'd advise volunteering at your local democrat headquarters, organizing neighborhood meet and greets, and walking your neighborhood with your friends. One thing Hillary has over Trump is a grassroots organization that is already in place and that makes a big difference in a close election.

A person would levy accusations of whining about Trump only if that person believes that Trump is a reasonable candidate. This "both choices suck" thing, as if both suck the same amount, is pretty hard to take seriously, anyway. In both cases [levying accusations of whining about Trump and complaining that both choices suck], it comes off as an attempt to obfuscate support for Trump.

So I'm assuming you don't have a job? Because if you did, you certainly wouldn't be posting on a message bo- oh, oh wait, I just remembered. I can do things outside of the internet and use the internet as a form of expression as well! Why didn't anybody tell me this before?!

Also, @ichab, I'd probably be more receptive to your posts if you'd smile more. You should look like you're enjoying the experience.

Okay clearly I'm wasting my time trying to be civil here. Have a good day.

Whoa, that's just a sharp, lecturing tone, and I find it unnecessary. You should be softer in how you present your image.

Were you just not alive in 2000 or something?

Have we forgotten George W. Bush exists?

 Can't say I blame you.
Yeah, the usage has been worn out over the years. It's the same as when some Republican political ad points to any Democratic candidate and says "the most liberal candidate on record." It's used to the point where it's just background noise. Now that I would consider whining.

When Trump and Clinton are the only two candidates with a realistic chance of winning the White House then measuring their levels of suckage is important. I can certainly understand voting for Gary Johnson (and to a much, much, much lesser extent Jill Stein), but given how close this election is that's a huge risk. I say if you're in a solid blue or red state then go vote for Johnson and support your favourite candidate, but if you're in a swing state like Florida then it's just too big a risk voting for a candidate that has zero chance of winning.
Thinking like that is why things never change. A candidate should have to earn your vote, not have it granted due to political party or geography.

Hillary is far and away better than Trump, and it IS because of ideology. Trump's ideology is to call Mexicans rapists and to remove the 1st, and 4th amendment rights of Muslims everywhere in the U.S. Again, you don't have to like her, but if you honestly think she's as bad, you either aren't paying attention, or you are and just want to look like someone who is above politics (you're not, FYI). Again, for those in the back, if you think Hillary is as bad as Trump, you're a fucking bobblehead.
He didn't attribute rape to every single Mexican on the planet. He was trying to make the point (not so eloquently) that illegal immigration from south of the border also imports crime (to include rape). He definitely could have chosen his words more wisely.

What does it mean to be "above politics?"

No one changes their defensive point of view based upon the strength of an attack post.

So the point of this thread is?

In fact, I suspect no one's vote will change because of this thread no matter how luscious and tastey are the cherries I pick.

Don't you find that a bit too apologetic? His words were incredibly irresponsible and dangerous in that they fuel xenophobia. I think somebody who does that is clearly unfit for presidency.

What else to expect from someone who's intimated that Hilary should be shot?

To invoke Godwin's Law, Hitler's Germany invented the modern highway system - das Autobahn. There's a bright spot to even the most evil despots.

Wrong.

To double your disappointment: Mussolini didn't make the trains run on time, either.

Turns out iron-fisted dictators don't really "get things done," unless what you want done is mass murder. They are pretty good at that, if you exclude Mussolini who sucked at basically everything.
