I posted this a couple of months ago.
The german paper is a lot thicker than the english. The Eternal Tide has ~380 pages, "Ewige Gezeiten" ~520, despite TET being only half as wide.

I came back to trek books through books...when Atonement was delayed on kindle I got the physical book..between that and one of the Typhon Pact books we picked up a few years ago, I am really unhappy with the paper quality in the books these days. My 20 year old copy of Imzadi seems sturdier.
If only there was an EU directive meaning we could have the German covers and quality here in the UK. Sob.

Heck, I would settle for a choice of ebook cover...and if Amazon could sensibly only show the UK versions on its U.K. Site, I could stop being jealous and also find the new books far more easily when shopping.

Still no sign of the English translation on Amazon :(

With this and the upcoming Discovery tie-ins, I'm chomping at the bit for some Trek fiction.

It's a classic Cross Cult thing. Sometimes they and amazon don't get along that well. The SCE collections appeared a few days after their release on amazon, IIRC.

I'm factoring it in as part of my Xmas Budget - just need to know how to much to plan for!

Oh well!

The German eBooks are 7,99 € and go for roughly $9,20 per book on US Amazon. I would assume the english translations will cost at least as much, probably a bit more. Just speculating here of course.

Don't worry. It'll be available at some point before release.

BTW: Cross Cult has announced a couple of days ago that the German version of this has gone into a second printing.
That's a good sign, for a pontential second trilogy/moar books, right?

I guess it means that sales exceeded their minimum expectations. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the size of a printing batch is decided so that you don't have too many books in the warehouse if the sales expectations are not met, yet you don't get out of stock too soon if it is a good seller.

I really like to see the sales be successful enough for the Prometheus books to be available on Amazon.com.:techman:
