Mission: Impossible 50th anniversary

It's probably overshadowed by the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, but at the same time, Desilu studios was producing the other most original and innovative show debuting on American television that year. It always amazes me what a creative powerhouse it must have been at Desilu in those times, and how Herb Solow took a chance on maverick producers Roddenberry and Geller to push the envelopes. They're still two of my favourite (US) shows.

So 50 years ago today, Dan Briggs first chose to accept his mission. Think I'll watch the pilot later and maybe another episode ("The Mind of Stefan Miklos" perhaps).

I'd prefer to forget the M:I movies, if only because of what they did to Jim Phelps.

Then again, the movies are a reboot anyway, so the "real" Jim is safe.
