Star Trek Chronology

Since the encyclopedia will come out with a new edition this year, will we be seeing an updated version of the chronology too? (last one came out in 1996) Or has the 2016 edition of the ST encyclopedia effectively replaced this as well?

If we were getting a new Chronology, it won't be for a year or two, otherwise we probably would have heard about it by now.

I'd like to see a Chronology that was more flowchart based that could take into account the various alternate timelines all on one page. It would be neat to see how the "Visitor" timeline unfolded alongside the Prime timeline, for example, and obviously the Kelvin universe too. It would be great to have a better look at how the simultaneous TNG/DS9/Voyager episodes ran based on internal time references instead of the broadcast date/averaging time per episode approach of the original Chronology.

But at this point I'd rather wait until they can include at least the first season of Discovery and work out a way to fully integrate information from the Kelvin films and the animated series.

I'm thinking it would be nice to have the Chronology as a running timeline at the bottom of each page of the Encyclopedia. So as you page turned from A to B, to C, etc, then the bottom of the page would take you from 'The universe was formed (which made a lot of people very angry)'. Episodes would just say 'Events of 'The Man Trap' (see page 247)'.

I don't know, I can't imagine they aren't already aware that people would be interested in one.

I just thought when they were revisiting the encyclopedia, they might recall that book, too, which is also in need of an update?

But yeah, it's not like they're trolling this board for project ideas.

Little timeline?
Well I'm just going of memory, and its probably been 15 years since I pulled my old Encycopedia out of the attic, but wasn't there some very basic, half dozen page or so, timeline in there some where.
There is indeed. In the appendices of all three editions, there's a "Historical events of the Star Trek universe". In the third edition, it covers 1957 to 2375.
