Maybe we should all behave like Klingons and eat the hearts of our enemies.

Bigots don't have hearts.
In what universe are LGBT people in any way comparable to people who abuse animals? Animals are incapable of giving consent unlike any relationship between adult humans. Based on your language you clearly find LGBT people disgusting. I'm not sure why, you probably have some personal issues that you need to work out since most people really aren't bothered by the love lives of their neighbors unless they're keeping you up at night. But we at least know there is going to be a gay crewmember on the new series and they'll probably be the first of many in the future. LGBT people aren't going anywhere. They're going to show up in your shows and movies like everyone else and eventually all this bigotry is going to be seen as an awful relic of the past when we decided that some people were less human than others. The idea that "we" are the good guys, the enlightened ones, while all those other societies is wrong doesn't resonate with me. Even within the federation there are disagreements about what is moral and what is not... (Data's rights?) so the ideal society can't even get it together. Accepting every difference is not the way since we would all agree that incest and bestiality are wrong (wouldn't we?) so clearly, there are limits. Trek would be much wiser to stay the path and avoid this subject. I would drop my $5.99 a month and everyone would benefit.
How do people like you even become Star Trek fans? One of Star Trek's hallmarks is about accepting everyone, regardless of their gender, skin colour, religious beliefs, species, and yes, sexuality. How can you embrace IDIC and not embrace LGBT?The old argument that Star Trek is all about tolerance. There are many species in Star Trek, not only humans, and these other species have their own ways, and their own intolerances. People are viewing Trek strictly from the point of view of the Federation, but ignore the other species which inhabit the galaxy. Or do you dismiss the points of view of those other species' because the are .... different? If you want to label me a bigot instead of someone who has simply had enough of the PC parade, fine, but just know that there are many others like me, and if you ignore us, you doom the franchise.
That's all well and good, but I was referring to the fact that my family is mostly dead now, and THAT is a big reason why I think the past is preferable to the present.Actually I can back it up with evidence.
Crime rates in the US are lower now.
Here's an article about how trends are showing that war and violence is going down.
Unfortunately this is what Star Trek has stood for for it's first half century, and is something that needs to change.Because any bigotry and intolerance for LGBTQ people flies in the face of everything Trek stands for.
While a derisive comment on your part, this is someone I would like to see as a Starfleet officer.why not include a midget on the show?
This is how we got the carpet on the TNG bridge.Straight people turning everything beige everywhere!
Yup, set them before the TV to watch a character who is attracted to the same sex and watch your family turn gay before your eyes. By the end of the episode they'll be desperate to try it for themselves, because that's how TV works. Make sure you don't let them watch any police procedurals or they'll become serial killers.I was prepared to plunk down the money to watch the show (and indoctrinate my wife & 3 youngsters), but after learning about this agenda, I have sadly put my wallet away, realizing that Trek is dead to me. I was looking for an interesting space western but instead it looks like this is going to be a vehicle to push the PC agenda. If it fails, and a part of me is hoping it does, it will likely be in part because of the lgbtq inclusion.
Yes because shows like The Walking Dead, American Horror Show, Ugly Betty, Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Sex and the City, Doctor Who, Days of Our Lives, EastEnders, True Blood, Orange Is the New Black, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Glee, Sense8, Major Crimes, et al, have all been hugely unsuccessful and bombed with audiences because they included gay characters. Is my view of lgbtq "different" from yours? Shouldn't you be enjoying and accepting my difference? I'm really just here to say that if Trek goes through with this nonsense that they will be losing fans and they really can't afford that. I don't want Trek to end, but it is going to if they don't listen to those of us on the other side.

Your kind may not be a dying breed but there are less and less of those who hold your views. Thank god for that.
They're like Dinosaurs and their meteor is called sexual freedom.
