I'm sorry, but having a Chief Engineer who is half Tribble is JUST. NOT. REALISTIC.

I know we're trying to be more inclusive now, but the poor guy doesn't even have limbs and his millions of progeny keep overrunning the ship. This is PC culture run amok!

Oh come on, accept it. It's new trek. Tribbles are now an ewok version of Klingons living in the equatorial forests of the Klingon homeworld. Accept it. Don't be like one of those TOS Purists who refused to accept Picard :klingon:

It was soooo progressive. Can you believe the captain was a Medusan female? I liked how her first officer carried her around the ship like a lunchbox. And I know I said they shouldn't have used Q, but recasting him with a crappy young punk actor gave the whole episode a slapstick B movie feel. I really felt like I was there....in a B movie.

Considering the shows and voice work Patrick Stewart is doing these days, his hologram advert for Chateau Picard wine, was not as surprising as I suspect Bryan Fuller wished it was.

I thought the song and dance number was too much of a George Lucas tribute. Yug yug indeed. Next thing you know, they'll be dropping a black hole in the center of...um...Vulcan. :sigh:

Wow, all of my doubts have been put to rest. They did a great job of staying consistent with TOS, but still making it unique.
I can't believe they actually got him to appear. I wonder if we'll see him again?

I don't know,
I hear the internet's wondering that too.

Rumor has that that individual just walked by and it was only the post-production staff who noticed and kept it in.

It was an older class ship than I thought too. Standard transmission had a nice retro feel, but you know that's going to be a problem. Not just anybody can take the helm now.

I just love those new Gucci uniform shirts! And getting Hugo Boss to design the Klingon uniforms was inspired.
Me too. The way the color spill from those bright uniform tops made the command staff look jaundiced, science and medical look like they drowned, and engineering and security look like their blood pressure is through the roof. Nice touch all around.
And the Klingons never looked smarter or more accessible.

Yeah. They were good. But I could have done with out the Dunkin Donut and Castrol Oil patches on the sleeves. But I guess the need to pay for them somehow.
Yup. I don't get why so many are upset by the product placements. I didn't find the Samsung tablets, Sony Experia communicators or the Heckler & Koch phasers especially distracting.

BTW, the new CBS ULTRA Access streaming package is great, sure I have to pay 30 bucks a month and have 50 commercials an episode, but we get the episodes 4 months before the regular CBS streaming service!

BTW, I'm glad they cast Tony Todd as Admiral Ramirez. ;)

It was kind of anticlimactic to find Captain Garth already on meds and doing well in therapy. I wasn't sure of the allegory. I guess he goes nuts in season 2 after he finds his Starfleet basic health insurance doesn't cover the meds that have gone up in price 400%. That's a lot of latinum.

Poor Americans. We saw this ep a month ago here in Canada! For free!

Yeah. but the Xerox replicators stretched the limits of belief. Like I'm supposed to believe they'll make a comeback.
