The Helm & Navigation stations' design on DSC

What will the Helm & Navigation station's design look like since it is before TOS?

Will two people sit together for helm/navigation?
weapons/tactical station?
rows of toggle switches that look very 20th century or all equipment look at least like The NX-01 on ENT designed in 2000?

I also wonder about the Comm system on the ship if they will have a box on the wall like an intercom that they have to walk to and press the button?

As far as helm and navigation being either two consoles or one, it could go either way since the series is set between ENT and TOS. As far as the console interfaces, there will probably be a mix of buttons and touchscreens (IMO) if the idea is to make the series look contemporary for today's audiences, yet still having a few nods towards TOS.

I'm pretty sure there will be some blinky lights somewhere...

I'd bet it won't be consistent and would look too futuristic, even compared to the 24th Century.

I find myself hoping they completely disregard established ship UI canon, and just do their best to project contemporary technological progress into the future with believable designs instead of 1960s design. Look at how ridiculous 1950s futurist projections have looked for 40 or 50 years now. Enterprise seemed to try change the wheel. Discovery should "break the wheel." Just go for it.

Just hopefully no holo-displays or heads-up holograms or whatever that shit is that every TV shows seems to love these days.
And if there are holograms, don't make them blue. Ever since Star Wars holograms have been blue, and I don't think it has any technical basis. I have always been intrigued by colorful holodisplays, however.

Those actually would at least make some sense in a Star Trek setting. Whenever I saw a hologram show up in Bones or CSI: NY, I would get annoyed. Because I don't recall holograms being used in my last tour of the police department.

hope there will be no transparent screens, holographic thing.

I hope they will not put too much screens. I'd like to see buttons, very few touch screens, some keyboards, a phone here and there

We MAY have had a look at an early version of the captain's chair, no? Or was that some other prop?

I don't mind that stuff blows up a lot in battle necessarily. I just object to the Bridge doing it (except in specific cases, mostly when the Bridge itself is being targeted), rather that say the areas of the ship that have been hit.

The Enter-Bird of Prey-Excelsior three-way from TUC has mostly this type of explosion, and even the less justified type is mostly from the wall consoles and/or ceiling where you might imagine higher-gain power cables and the like running (unlike in the late 24th Century where the CONN (which has no reason to be running more than standard current) would do it.
