T'Pol's emotions opposed to Spock's

Pretty sure he had no real interest in marrying T'Pring, but he gets in a parting shot

He just wanted to get back to the ship and face what ever consequences Starfleet had for him.

You have to admit, for a "logical" people the Vulcan's traditions lead them to pretty absurd situations! Just imagine! If Kirk had died, Spock in spite of seeing through T'Pring's plan gave her exactly what she wanted, rewarding her villainy, he killed his captain and ruined his life. And all that because of those idiotic customs of an allegedly logical people!

I never understood why all the "hate" for ENT Vulcans. Every one of them was a better Vulcan than T'Pring! Heck, Kos even released T'Pol from her marriage bond AND helped get her and Archer into the capital with the Kir'shira.

Kos was a nice guy, plus he was obviously in love with T' Pol.

I don't know if he was in love, but he liked and respected T'Pol. Her attitude to him was not so positive.... I guess because of the power he held over her.

Damn right! Vulcan Males never gets axed how much shit he can cope with. They're just supposed to suck it up. So, they just pretend like it's all very logical. They go play fetch with the Sehlat, jam out on the Vulcan Harp, and shit like that ... hide out in the mountains and meditate. Then come home and act like nothing's wrong until the stress makes them Pon Farr, spontaneously.

Yeah, being a Vulcan male is not all it's cracked up to be.

That's why they invented pon farr -
"What's that, honey? Oh, I can't deal with that now, sorry. Contact me in six years, if you're still up for it."

ROTFL :guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:
Yeah so life isn't so great after all for Vulcan males despite all the cool factors and elegance (if you can consider upside down bowl hairstyle elegant)

Well, they live twice as long as human beings but it must seem like ten times as long!:D

Vulcan's always given the impression of being a matriarchal society, in TOS, has it not, though? T'Pau ... T'Lar ... Then ENT comes along, and the High Command shows a Man in charge, which I took to represent as being the Non-Vulcan philosophy, to kind of tip us off that there wasn't something quite right going on ... my god! They put a MAN in charge! To war-monger ... to epitomise corruption and Abuse of Power. Oh! If only T'Pau would come along and $ave us, like a pointy-eared Joan of Ark ...

Except that they didn't burn her at the stake.

Both seemed to be functioning in a "religious" capacity, though T'Pau is also involved in politics. Surak is called the founder of Vulcan society and he's male. Sarek is their top diplomat, also male. Not seeing a matriarchy or patriarchy for that matter.

I am not sure Vulcans are truly religious. They seem to me to be more like the intellectual Buddhists who aren't religious at all.

That's why I put the quotes around religious. They have people who perform various cultural rites.

If logic is both the Vulcan religion (and that argument can be made) and the foundation of their civic order, then the priests of that religion would be pretty powerful.

I am not sure. If there are no gods that they can pretend speaking on behalf of, like our priests do, then their power is purely symbolic.

Religion isn't just about gods. It's about worshipping things that are sacred.

Without gods there are no incentives to worship anything. How long do you think people would comply with restrictive regulations if there were no cops to arrest them if they didn't?
