TOS movies didn't end on failed ST 5 and and neither should TNG end on Nemises. We need a Petition for one more NG film to close it out!

Yes, I am aware of the saying, but the people he was replying too were not asking for TNG era Trek, but a post TNG/Nemesis era.

People should realize that we are getting something entirely new. A new ship, a new crew, new characters, new aliens, new settings and a brand new Star Trek TV series after 11 years of absence!
I do realize that we are getting something new and I am looking forward to the new series. However my previous comment, which you did not quote in full, was making an entirely different point. The people who Bryan Fuller was responding too weren’t asking for more TNG era, but post TNG (something new) and he responded to them by saying “all good things”.People should realize that we are getting something entirely new. Star Trek: Enterprise ended May 13, 2005.
Star Trek: Discovery starts January 2017.
The final episode of Enterprise, whose title shall not be mentioned, was aired in May of 2005.

If I was in charge of CBS' Trek programming, after reading all the negative crap from fans online ad nauseam, here's what I'd say: "Let's do one season of Discovery. If they like it, great. If not, we're done. Keep repackaging the old stuff."
Unfortunately I think you're right. Only substitute the word "Discovery" with the phrase "Star Trek". If Discovery fails (and with Beyond underperforming) we're looking at another multi-year Trek dry spell.
That was the plan for the first season of TNG, if it had bombed, they were just going to add it to the Star Trek syndication package as a fourth season.
