World Of Warcraft - Legion

you guys. guys. should I take a gander at Legion? I somehow have a craving of seeing if ye olde Kil'jaeden EU still exists

Stayed up til 2 am yesterday doing stuff on my Demon Hunter, then got up before work to do garrison stuff. Send help.

Some notes on Invasions:

During phase 1 when two commanders appear, be sure to tag them both to get Nethershards from each.
It's best to seek out the skull icons on the minimap during phase 2, the named mobs there drop Nethershards.
If you're playing a Demon Hunter, the glaive weapon that you can get (from both chests and for 100 Nethershards) is Bind on Account and can be mailed to your other characters and they can use the upgrade item to upgrade it.

Yeah, I would have thought BLizz would have made sure you at least tagged some mobs in each stage of an invasion to get the rewards. Otherwise, everyone will just start afk'ing it.

Did you get one chest or two? The invasion gives two total.

Two. I have now done this multiple times. I am a loser.

"Bring your friends to Azeroth, but don't forget to go outside Azeroth with them as well."

(I assume this means Outlands.)

You already know the answer. Search your heart.

I am definitely curious, and I think I'll take a look in time for Legion's release (I'm a Warcraft III guy so Burning Legion stuff is up my alley)

That's great, I'm sure it will be very different from last you played. When was that?
I took a miniscule/almost-nonexistent peek during the WoD closed beta, other than that, the last time I played for more than ~1 hour was during MoP for about a month (I was literally unemployed at the time, so cliché!) - that was during the Timeless Isle stuff

before that, I had taken a loooong break that started around mid-WotLK (before that, I had started playing during the Closed European Beta in late 2004 before finishing my Abitur, culminating in a hardcore raider career in AQ40/Naxx as a University student)

WoW couldn't hold my attention indefinitely once the hardcore raiding phase was over (towards the release of TBC), even though there was a tight-knit little community that kept me playing way longer than I otherwise would have

Edit: I've even been to a wedding of two of my former guild mates!

Current raiding just doesn't fit in with my life, I don't have that much uninterruptable time. I like seeing the old content and now collecting mogs but I am no longer expecting to be on top in any aspect of the game. I hate the feeling I am behind so I now approach it differently and check myself if that feelings starts niggling at me.

btw someone told me you get the artifact weapons THREE quests into Legion? Is this true? I was messing around on Beta but didn't start that till like a week before the pre-patch dropped so have abandoned it. If it is true there is no point doing these invasions to get the coalesced upgrade for weapons unless you want to raid something you would like a weapon at 725 for. I've stopped shard grinding.

If you do want to grind them though you can fly out of the zone immediately after stage 3, log off, log back on and fly back and the whole thing is set to stage 1 again. You do not get any extra chest but you can shard grind the elites. I don't know if you get Xp as I only did that on a 100. The Xp is great for lower levels.

Also save your chests if you get them on a under 100, it will be the level you are when you open it so if you're leveling an alt for legion and you have them saved you can probably completely kit the alt out.

I finished my Shattered Sun grind, just ran Magister's Terrace over and over rather than doing dailies. So my gnome hunter is now Molecules of the Shattered Sun. He's adorable.

back in the day, people got mocked mercilessly for that title because it was available for an obscene amount of gold

one of the guilds on our server was called <OF THE SHATTERED SUN LOL>

hardly anyone has ;) it was a great experience back then, being on the bleeding edge and fighting for server firsts, but it sure was to the detriment of other aspects in life (much like playing a sport in a very aspirational manner)

Yep I remember that well "why would you PAY for a title?" and yet you did earn it doing lots of boring shit like every other title

It's one of the few that is not account wide so you have to do it all over again on a new character. And now that 1k gold "donation" is nothing.

wasn't it more than 1k back then? I don't quite remember, but even "just" 1k was quite outrageous for a title that "does nothing" (well, duh, it's a title) back then

No it was always 1k which once up on a time was a lot of money. I always liked that title, have it on my main but never use it since she is Insane. I always wanted a nice little sentence with it and now it's done

I grinded (ground?) out two 6/6 upgraded glaives for my DH, how else could I be the best DH that ever was in LFR?
