Right, since everything's about the upcoming U.S. presidential election in November with two of the most despised candidates in history, the theme for this is heads of states. Presidents, Prime Ministers, Kings & Queens, Emperors, Chancellors, any leader of a nation.

But they have to be current leaders. No George Bush or Maggie Thatcher or Helmut Kohl or someone like that.
It can be someone you like, someone you hate, someone you find incredibly funny (you know they're out there) or someone you just find interesting.

Maximum size for entries is 200x200 pixels and 1Mb data.

I'll start us off with the President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Evo Morales:

OK, well it's obvious that I'm going to go with our current prime minister, Justin Trudeau.

I'm just not sure whether to enter a typical statesman-like image:

Or whether to enter an image from when he became the first sitting PM in history to march in a pride parade:

    Thoughts?

(And yes, I know the prime minister is not actually our head of state. That would technically be Queen Elizabeth II.)

Brilliant idea @Kai "the spy", here is my entry, Queen Elizabeth the Second of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and several other territories globally and Michael D. Higgins, the President of the Irish Republic.

the Queen and lil Micky D.jpg

Coincidently, one is my future head of state and the other is my present and soon to be former head of state.

Well, technically, Angela Merkel isn't the German head of state, but I'm not gonna be counting beans over this.

As to your two options, they're both pretty good. Maybe you should think about what it is that made you choose Trudeau in the first place, and which one of these represents that better.

In hindsight, though, maybe it would have been a fun rule to say you can't enter the leader of your own nation, but it's a bit late for that. Orwell, maybe next time.

Not so sure on that given the seventh word used in that wiki article is "unrecognised."

LOL, you beat me to it, RJD. I was thinking of using the same. Classical case of great minds :D
But I'll still come up with something. Or someone, rather.

So you'll allow other leaders from fictional and made up lands then?

^ Let's try and remember that this is an avatar contest for no prize on an internet forum between about a dozen people, and try and treat that like the ultra serious business it most obviously is.

    On that note...

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Catimir Pootin, President of Cats.

To be fair, it wouldn't have to be the same coin. But, hey, if it's good enough to decide whether an Iowa district would go to Clinton or Sanders, it's good enough for this contest.

I was joking about your post to set up the Putin riding a kitten thing, ie. me not taking things seriously.

access to my own server is blocked by the darned firewall at my office (grrrrrrrrrr!!!). So I hope this substitute works:

Germany's current chancelor before she became involved with politics :D (the rules don't say that it has to be a contemporary pic, only a contemporary head of state :p )
I've always been a voter for the opposition. But Angie's position in the refugee situation has won her my respect.

Well, it's a real place. I never said it was recognized by the UN or anything. More like something out of a William Gibson novel. :rommie:

Aw, sorry about that. But great minds do think alike. :D

Thank you very much. Schrödinger has always been good to me. :rommie:
