I agree, there have been waaaaaay too many uniforms in the the Nu-trek movies.

Star Trek:
Cadet Ground Uniforms
Cadet Training Uniforms
Officer Ground Uniforms
Officer Space Uniforms
Division Specific Space Suit
Admiral Uniforms

Star Trek: Into Darkness:
Lava Suit
Division Specific Dive Suits
Division Specific Space Suits
Officer Ground Uniforms 2.0
Officer Space Uniforms
Officers Shuttle Uniforms?
Admiral Uniforms

Star Trek: Beyond:
Officer Space Uniforms 2.0
Officer Ground Uniforms 3.0
Escape Pod Uniforms
Franklin Uniforms
Franklin Engineer's Jacket

Almost like a real military organization!

True, but in a usual Star Trek episode or movie the crew is usually wearing the same uniform 90+% of the time whether they're on the bridge, flying in a shuttle, on an away mission, or off duty.
"We have a volatile situation ahead, it's sure to be a firefight. What should we wear Mr Worf?"
"Standard two piece formal suits, sir!"

It's like sending troops into battle in standard office dress.

The one style (two for DS9, occasionally) for all purposes is ridiculous. Diplomatic mission, meeting with world leader, working in a slimey goo chamber, combat.... every time in the same threads. Most of the time it didn't make sense - especially when the real world has a variety of uniforms for a variety of functions for a reason.

One of the best parts of the Kelvin timeline right now is their diversity in outfits. Ground uniforms that kind of mirror BDU's, formal uniforms (more the formal dress or travel-ish style - I'm not sure it's designation), explorer uniforms, industrial wear, survival suits.... makes far more sense.

Like BillJ said, it was probably due to the budget limitations of the shows.

AGREED! STID gray off ship uni like Bones and Marcus were wearing in shuttle while opening torpedo scene were a joke. Why change?? Zero reason

That said I like Kirk's new uni at Yorktown while talking with Admiral looked sharp and the new duty unis are great!!

I like the current mix of uniforms. Kirk and Chekov's "survival jackets" are a little bit too fussy for my taste, if used too often as off-ship uniforms, but a slightly streamlined version of that jacket would make a lot of visual sense.

I'm not disputing that at all. Simply pointing out the ridiculousness of having the same outfit for all tasks. They have money now, and it's being used very nicely.

Cold alien atmosphere and you expect them to pop out in a light jumper? I wouldn't want to be under your command during the winter!

I'm talking norm temps you can beam down in ship duty uni when you are asking the Hulkans for some of their crystals vs. Changing unis every 2 mins lol

Look at the cage and twok - cold grab a jacket. Again I loved Kirk's Yorktown uni and survival gear in kelvin pods makes sense might want to blend in a bit better but I get the idea

My 1st officer is Klingon so toughen up

I agree, you wouldn't use the same uniform for a formal dinner as you would for dirty engineering work or an away mission on a hostile planet, but at the same time I think they went a bit too far in the Nu-Trek movies. Why is the traditional relaxed space uniform fine for any job on a starship but if you go to a metropolitan utopia of a space station you suddenly need a utility jumpsuit? Why do you need a special completely different uniform to take a routine 5 minute shuttle flight from Earth to Spacedock but in the previous movie it was perfectly fine to do it in a cadet uniform, officer dress uniform, or just street clothes? Going by what we've seen in the last 3 movies if you were an officer on the bridge of a Starship and wanted to take a 5 minute shuttle ride to a nearby Federation Starbase then you'd have to change uniforms.... twice (Space Uni -> Shuttle Uni -> Starbase Uni). Then if you wanted to head down to a Federation facility on a nearby planet you'd have to change again... twice (Starbase Uni -> Shuttle Uni -> Ground Uni (gray with hat) version 1 or 2). The changes between these uniforms just happens, there's no mention of it in the dialog, and they have no bearing on the story (besides giving an excuse to see Alice Eve change that one time). I guess my issue is they spent all the time and effort making alternate costumes/uniforms for random tasks and situation that did really require a separate uniform, like starbase, shuttle, and multiple formal ground uniforms, while neglecting to add uniforms that would have made sense like the white engineer radiation suits or the security guard armor from the TOS Movies.

I'm not aware of multiple dress uniforms
You have duty, cadet uniform, instructor uniform and dress uniform in ST 09. In ST ID there is a little more variety with the dress uniform (gray cap), Admiral's uniform (nice nod to TMP) gray utility uniform and duty uniform. The utility jumpsuit seemed to be treated similarly to camo fatigues of the US military when used for travel. Dress uniforms are not generally used for travel due to being for special occasions, usually having stricter rules as to when they are to be worn.

Yeah, there are separate gray dress uniforms and brown dress uniforms in addition to flag officers dress uniforms that Pike wore. There are also 4 duty uniforms (5 if you count the new ST:B one), one for space, one for the ground, and two for Flag Officers (one that Admiral Marcus and others wore that was similar to the Dress Uniform and one that Admiral Barnett and other Admirals wore).
Here's the complete list for the first two movies:
