CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

Until you see it, you won't have a valid, informed opinion. As a fan for over 40 years, I enjoyed the hell out of it. And unlike Axanar, it actually exists.
So what? If a new series fails to grab me I'm supposed to watch everything waiting for it to get better? Meanwhile all the info that comes out shows that it hasn't.

I don't think so.

Watching AP get flattened is a lot more entertaining.

Oh.My.God! Only $5.5 Mil.?
With the average ticket of $10 it means just about 500.000 people have seen STB on its opening?
Compare this to 2,5 Mil. viewers vor the Prelude To Axanar youtube video.

Clearly such a win for AP! The fans thus have spoken - everything new from CBS/P tanks in comparison to the great AXANAR!
How can haters not see the truth???

The Devil's Advocate has spoken!
Not to sound political but opening a major film on the same night as the convention grand finale may not have been the best timing.

It was the preview night, Thursday. All the PR said opening night was Friday. The projections are 60 million for the weekend. Perhaps your observation affected it a bit but there's three days to do the main push.

Not to be argumentative because see or don't see it. But, how you described the film series is how I felt about TNG for the longest time. It certainly isn't my favorite series, by far, but I at least was able to find some thing to enjoy in it.

Food for thought.

I don't think they cross checked schedules before finalizing this one ;)

Although sadly it is going to open behind the previous two films. But still it will soon have been seen by more people than have viewed Prelude.

From a post on the Axanar facebook page:

Go see Star Trek Beyond! It is a great movie, real Star Trek and a whole lot of fun. A whole bunch of us got to go to the Premier here at SDCC last night and I can tell you, we ALL loved it!

And while many of you are pissed off about the lawsuit (so are we!), and many of you have said you will boycott everything CBS/Paramount (and we appreciate your support!), we prefer that we all share in the love of Star Trek and celebrate the 50th anniversary of our beloved show.

JJ Abrams and Justin Lin have showed their support for Axanar and we need to show them ours.

Thank you!

Alec
Argh. Alec is one of those people who don't know the difference between premier and premiere. Now I'm a hater for sure.

He's found yet another way to insert himself into the center of the conversation. :barf:

The thing is, now the movie is out JJ and Lin may no longer care about the lawsuit. Lin hasn't been confirmed as coming back for Star Trek 4 and it is a few years away anyway. Publicity is no longer an issue for Paramount anymore. Settlement talks may change now.

Alec Peters' Jonestown Productions?
Don't miss a donation
It will be a Massacre!

Someone should photoshop him in here

Is there actually anything new going on with this case? Based on the pivot towards talking about Beyond, it seems no. It's just gotten dull at this point. Can it just be over already?
