"Wayward Pines" miniseries discussion (spoilers)

Anyone still watching this? Everyone who was billed in season 1's opening credits is now dead except for Hassler who is pretty much a blank slate besides his puppy love for Theresa. So we're stuck with him and Jason as the remaining characters from season 1 while everyone else brought back seemed to only be brought back to die. I guess this is what happens when you try to turn a miniseries into a series and it's been almost two years since you filmed season 1. And Jason is just about the worst main character on a TV show in a while. I guess his idea of leading is to bury his head in the sand.

How could you forget about Arelene?? Oh, and Ben's girlfriend that was a nurse when we last saw her (unless she died in the Purge)

But yeah...most of the new characters aren't really grabbing me...it's a shame they killed most off.

But i am still interested to see where they are going with the female Abby... but siding more with the Abby's.

I did appreciate the Flash back episodes we've had. But the present isn't so interesting...and very poor useage of Djimon Honsou

They've wasted Honsou so far though I think the next episode has flashbacks about his character. So far this season is a huge disappointment. They bring back old characters just to kill them. Have they impacted the story at all? If they have I don't recall it. Jason is an idiot. Very weak villain. There's no real mystery to hook the viewer. The only thing coming close is what is the deal with the Abbies. At this point I'm hoping they wipe humans out because the humans suck.

Jason is the most stupid human being on TV right now. I know their intent is for him to be in over his head and fanatical, but there's no hint of conflict or depth to any of it. He just comes across as a raging moron because the plot requires an antagonist.

My wife thought the episode was boring...I thought it was interesting... though Hounsou basically reprised his role from the movie "Air" (with Norman Reedus)... but wouldn't there be side effects with him sleeping and waking so many times???? I know the point of it was to show how he observed the fall of humanity... but a little over the top?

The doctor has finally become more than annoying...but now the Queen thinks he's the leader?? Oy.

Oh and the death -- shocking...but well deserved. At least she made it through the season making an actual impact, rather than being killed off like 1/2 the cast of War of the Worlds.

Looking forward to seeing what happens...but I imagine there will NOT be a 3rd season...

Jason dying a slow and painful death would be the only redeeming factor to his character.

Do these "soldiers" look like a bunch of kids playing army during recess with no clue what they're supposed to be doing? On a better show I'd say that was the point they were trying to make, but this is Wayward Pines.

I think that's the point.

So now where is Kessler headed? Assuming the Queen lives...there should be a FEW survivors...

I thought taking a look back at Jason for the second to last episode was going to be a giant waste of time, but instead it turned out to be about Kerry and as a byproduct... Jason as well. And finally he's now off the show.
