Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

I suppose, maybe it's far fetched, that the review embargo is a way to make it 'fair' for the critics and make it so they all have the same chance. If tomorrow some critics will review the movie for first, their articles will be the most clicked while other sites won't get the chance to review the movie yet because they have to wait almost 2 weeks more and by that time, any review about the movie would be old news and get less attention.

I'm just going to say this about the Spock/Uhura/McCoy scene: It is lacking context. We don't know the relationships and how they've changed between STID and what we saw there. We don't know exactly what is going on between Spock and Uhura. Everybody needs to calm down until we actually see the movie and that particular scene IN CONTEXT.

the fact that the clip doesn't provide context is exactly the point IMO The Uhura's part is obviously cut, I doubt the scene starts just like that.
and I wonder if they'd even release the clip if S/U's break up was permanent. It feels like the clip has a set up for both dynamics, but we have to wait and see what really happens.

I hope they didn't kill the S/U relationship, especially not if it's just to make room for more bromance. It's unnecessary and overkill; unlike what some fans believe, Spock having a significant other really is not a threat to the male friendships, it's just another dynamic to develop adding layers to the characters we didn't see before and that you can't see with the friendships alone.. and really, it's the only 'different kind' of relationship we have in these movies and the one more unique to this trek too. A lot of people love it, even Nimoy loved it. The relationships between the men are always considered such a given and taken so for granted as a constant thing that you gotta put in every universe and every trek (at times even at the expense of what might make sense for a character in that context), so it would be weird for me if the one different kind of relationship (with a woman) that is about the story of the characters from THIS trek, is the only one that can't survive.
I had been worried about Pegg being too partial/biased about the dynamics with the guys since the start because romance (and female characters in general) really doesn't seem to be a thing he's particularly skilled with (or interested about) ... and I'd really rather be completely wrong about my prejudices than being right.

There was an erroneous rumor that the movie had been test screened a few months ago..before they had a final cut. It strikes me that this early premiere might act as a test of sorts, weeks before the US release.
Once they premier a movie it is the final cut of the movie. I have never heard of changes being made post premier. It is very difficult to make changes as, Critics, celebrities and more are invited to premiers and it is near impossible to change the film two weeks form release theatres need to get copies there is no more time for reshoots or edits considering the need to get the movie out to theatres.

I too don't think they can change the movie after tomorrow. Too many people would know. Test audiences are another thing, they know they are watching a version of the movie that might change or have additions.

If it's not on their servers yet, I think they could make changes, there is time. Admittedly it's not likely.

I'm not an expert but there are countries that do the whole dubbing thing too and those must have got the movie weeks in advance otherwise dubbers don't have the time to do their job (and some of those countries will release the movie on july 21 like the usa)

Simon said STB begins with Kirk and crew in negotiations with two planets. This is cool. It gives the impression that I'm turning on the TV at the end of a episode and I´m going to wait for the next.

I agree. That or like some TV series or Bond movies that would have that mini-adventure pre-credits, putting you into what's happening right then.

I like that style; it's very absorbing and brings you into the universe in a more complete way.

They will do early test screenings all the time. And often go back and do reshooting afterwards. Case in point Suicide Squad went back for reshooting after test audiences found it darker than they were expecting.

Premier is when the critics can see it. That is a done deal. If they are showing it early to critics it means they are extremely confident in their movie and have no concerns about bad word of mouth. (Similar example. Batman V Superman was not shown to critics. Captain America Civil War was shown 3 weeks earlier than expected.)

There are 12 days to go until the release. I think there is no more time for reshoots.

This is the final cut whether critics can release their review or not is different the film is screening so I don't think there will be any changes to the story of the film at this point in time

I don't see Mccoy being worried for Spock (or Uhura) there. Nothing in his tone and mannerism suggests anything but mocking Spock, to me. Like honestly, I don't see this big friendship between them and I don't even know how I could.
That's because you're one of those people who just looks for things to complain about.

I really don't have a clue how one could watch that little teaser clip and come away with "that's xenophobia".

One of the things I loved about TOS was the banter (friendship) between Spock and McCoy. One ep "The Ultimate Computer" I cracked up when McCoy follows Kirk out of engineering and says "Did you see how Spock's eyes lit up? The right computer finally came along."

I'd like to see the reboot S/M have that too. I feel that in some ways Uhura's part got bigger and McCoy's part shrank. That he was put more of a background character in some ways (except for the scene in ID where he saves Kirk's life) He's not as much in the forefront is all I'm saying.
I am hoping with Beyond that the scenes with S/M will be bigger and plenty of both serious and banter discussions.
I find the relationship between Kirk, Spock and Uhura in the last two films to be pretty boring compared to the original Kirk, Spock and Bones trio. From what little we've seen, the relationship between these three in Beyond already surpasses the relationship between Kirk, Spock and Uhura in the last two films.

Kirk and Spock are the food and Bones is the seasoning that brings it all together. How the steak is cooked and prepared is just as important as the steak itself. Uhura was like cheap A. 1. steak sauce over a burnt steak.

I haven't enjoyed Uhura's elevated status in the films not saying a female lead can't work in Bones's place just the way she is written doesn't seem to mesh well.

I hope you're wrong as well.

I also hope that Spock and Uhura continue on as a relationship, I hope that McCoy is able to find his place as the adviser to entire group, not just Kirk, and I hope that the writers recognize that it is possible to have 4 people in a group dynamic, not just The Big Three (trademark pending).

Me? Lol
And said by you!... Lol ok.^
I guess your negative feels about things and complains about the characters and pretexts to hate on Uhura are just opinions but if others make an observation about one of your faves they are the haters.. funny how that works

The sense of pot/kettle entitlement of some people never ceases to be funny.
