New Trek In The UK

DeepSpaceYorks

Commander
Red Shirt
Didn't see this anywhere immediately obvious so thought I'd ask.

CBS All Access does not exist in the UK as far as I am aware. How are they planning on screening this show overseas if the online channel doesn't exist? I'm probably not going to buy a sub for just one show.

CBS Action would be good, it's on Sky, Freeview, Freesat, Virgin AND TalkTalk - many platforms

Sky Atlantic or Netflix seem the most likely

I reckon it'll be one of the Sky Channels and wouldn't bet against Atlantic. One of the freeview channels would be nice, but I think it's unlikely:(

My guess is Sky. Hopefully it'll be Sky One or maybe Sky Living. If it's on Sky Atlantic or Netflix than I'll have to wait for the DVD to come out or for it to be shown on another channel at a later date.

When Star Trek 2017 was first announced, a week later didn't they say there were already interest from potential international buyers?

When Star Trek 2017 was announced, they said it would be distributed internationally in the same press release that announced the show. International distribution has been the plan from day 1.

But.. it will probably be on Sky or a subscription channel initially, not Freeview. CBS Action is entirely 15+ year old series, for instance.

If there is a credible way of watching the show then I'll take it (within reason) but I'm definitely open to.... less-credible sources if that's not possible. I want to be up to date dammit! I would really like to be able to add to the official ratings though.

If it's on sky then there's a fairly credible way - just subscribe to sky

It won't be like the dark days of the 90s, huddled over the lights of a 56k modem trying to download the latest episode from a dcc on irc because there was no way, short of flying to America, to get the episodes when broadcast.
