Rihanna to release Star Trek Beyond Single

I thought it was a joke at first but I must say it is an odd combination. I am weirdly curious to hear the song because I do not like Rihanna's music much and I personally don't think she is a good singer or has a good voice.

They should have gotten somebody like Adele , she did a great job with Skyfall.

The smartass in me is thinking "oh great, a techno-dance beat rendition of Enterprising Young Men with lyrics." But seriously, I got mixed feelings about this. Although Rihanna had some okay stuff back when she just started and for her first two or three years, I've been largely unimpressed with her work so long now she had pretty much disappeared off my radar until now.

Although, IMO, it's a missed opportunity not having her sing Beyond Antares. Come on, this movie is practically begging to have a pop-song rendition of that tied in with it.

Like her or not, Rihanna is a mega star in the music industry, so it's a good marketing move for the movie.

I like a handful of her songs, some others are total garbage. We'll see how Sledgehammer does. It's not that important to me though, as long as her star power gets some extra butts to the theater seats.

Wow, I think that's great news! I'm not her biggest fan (just not that much into R'n'B), but I have a tremendous amount of respect for Rihanna as an artist. She has an amazing voice and I'm looking forward to the song. Exciting times to be a Star Trek fan!
