Doctor Who vs other franchises?

I wonder how the good Doctor would fair against aliens from other franchises?

Anyone want to wager any battles?

About a decade ago I tried writing a Doctor Who/Star Trek: Voyager crossover fanfic. It was a 10th Doctor story set shortly after the events of "Doomsday." (Actually, during the ending of "Doomsday," after the Doctor sealed the rift but before he said goodbye to Rose.)

Basically, a void rift would open in the Delta Quadrant and the Borg would fight a bunch of Cybermen & Daleks. The Borg would refuse to assimilate the Cybermen because they were too unadvanced and would detract from perfection. The Borg would try to assimilate the Daleks but then the Daleks would kick their asses.

That sounds good...... I am pretty sure they have done such a cross over with Star Trek and Dr Who, just I have never actually read the comic itself properly.

I'd like to see the Dr vs the Empire or Federation from Blake's 7, or ID4 aliens

I read the first half of the Matt Smith/TNG comic. It was really good, although the best part was the flashback with the 4th Doctor meeting Captain Kirk. The eccentric 4th Doctor just fits so well with that classic Star Trek aesthetic. Many of the civilians on the original Star Trek were oddly dressed loners anyway. :D

I'd have to agree. TOS just fits with the 4th Doctor. I can picture him there.

A post on another thread mentioned the ST meets Plent Of The Apes comic, DW meets planet POTA would be fun.

Or the 2nd or 3rd if it 2nd if it was going to be co concurrent with the films and tv series

I have an old fanzine somewhere that has nothing but Doctor Who crossover stories. Of course there's the obligatory Who/Star Trek crossovers (Classic Who, of course, as this was in the '80s), but others included Wizards & Warriors, All Creatures Great and Small (Peter Davison was one of the stars of that show; he played a veterinarian), Remington Steele, and M*A*S*H.

OOooh 10 and Remington Steele together. Now that would be fun...... Pity none of the doctors have been flirty. On the other hand Jack Harkness and Laura meeting hmmmmm

That would be quite a combination! But this fanzine was strictly Classic Who, as they were only up to the Fifth Doctor at the time.

The M*A*S*H crossover was quite good, as I recall. It had the Fourth Doctor, Leela, Hawkeye... I don't remember all the characters.

There is, of course, the well known fanfic titled simply, "The Doctor and the Enterprise" that was a staple of many conventions. There were two versions, one that listed the names of the Trek characters, and a second "edited" edition that excised specific names when Paramount was more actively looking for copyright infringements. Kirk initially perceived the Doctor as an almost Harry Mudd type troublemaker, but by the end the TimeLord convinced Kirk of his honorable intentions.

Some copies depicted sporadic illustrations mimicking the style of Mort Drucker, noted for drawing many parodies in Mad Magazine. So the Doctor looked especially "toothy".

Alas, I can't remember the first darn thing about the plot, other than the TARDIS materializing upon the transporter platform where it could not have fit. (maybe the transporter beam affected the relative exterior dimensions of the "plasmic shell". :shifty:

Sincerely,

Bill

I have that still.

The fourth doctor and TOS are a natural fit.

To me it should have been a ST vs SW deal, with the Doctor saving Alderan by having the Genesis torpedo, say--hit the Death Star and turn it into a habitable moon.

But the Doctor never uses weapons, except for those times he uses weapons. :/

The torpedo was a constructive device so...
We saw Davison let a Cyerman have it in the chest with Adric's medal--and then kept shooting the cyberman in the chest with its own hand weapon.

That's about the most violent I've seen the Doctor. The 1980's again. Then too, we saw Lytton's hands crushed.

The Doctor disintegrates an Ogron in Day of the Daleks, uses the Master's laser pistol in The Claws of Axos and he has a gun collection in The Gunfighters,

Here's a video of the good Doctor using guns
