Actually, i also see the confusion. Satire is protected speech under the First Amendment, no one is going to jail for writing a satire. But, creating a satire isn't a defense for free use in a copyright suit, whereas parody is.

Sure, I respect that being a valid opinion. I guess similar could be said about the hundreds of conversation threads in which people who talk about trek have about which series, what character, why something was written this/that way, re-mastering, rebooting, fan fic, fan films as they apply to TV shows and movies written & produced, some of them decades ago in the long past, that aren't going to change no matter how we envision and responded with what is or opinion on what should/could have been. Which one could opine are dead in that respect. I, personally, stay here, asking questions, following the litigation, put out my speculations, ask more questions, research copyright et al from leads I discover in this thread... because I am involved with this donor thing, in this particular production and others, and I have concerns about how this litigation turns out and the repercussions in current and future live time effecting the franchise actual and peripheral fan expressions in film/art/audio/fiction/cosplay etc. I'm interested in the live time workings, sometimes machinations, happening right now, real time, as this thing continues to play out.
Though I can understand how your opinion does not match mine. And respect it.
However, to me this thread is relevant to something I care deeply about happening right now, in real time.

It's your choice not to share these messages. I can understand why. I do maintain it's a mistake to not share them directly, though. Not in some lurid, tabloid, gossipy sense. Rather, this is how Alec continues to prosper, rarely ever being held to publicly account for the actions he takes against a wide number of people who've worked tirelessly in support of his dreams, and with some level of personal cost.
I don't know you and admittedly I have a bias in this. But I don't think abusive behavior should be rewarded with such a level of silence.
Huh. Well, yes, many of the things going on around this production are extremely unsettling to me. Expressing that has definitely been cathartic for me at times.

On target and off target seem to have a nice balance here so far. 40 posts is a bit long a run without hard news, but I personally wouldn't worry that anything has been derailed in a 6 month+ discussion. Just wait till Alec makes his next pronouncement, whatever it may be
