Roxann looks very lovely, indeed, which helps compensate, some, for B'Elanna's cranium ... for that rubber head.
Well ... she is half Klingon so she can't get rid of those wrinkles, can she?
And if she could, we'd never have got the lovely LINEAGE episode.
I like that dress of hers very much. This one comes from ALTER EGO and I actually feel sorry that we never saw her wear that one again.

Thomas, I agree - completely - regarding B'Elanna's dress. She looks very beautiful all femmed out and the dress is a pretty one, indeed. As for the episode, itself, "Alter Ego," I find it very difficult to watch. When Kes, the beautiful, kind, sweet pixie was heaved over the side ... well ... I try avoiding that episode, wherever possible. So, I don't get to see Torres' cute outfit all that often, I'm afraid. But now ...? Now, I can!

... Thanks, Thomas!

Hmmmm.......I can't remeber that scene with Kes from "Alter Ego".

Actually, she could have gotten rid of the ridges. In the Star Trek Universe, they seem to be able to change their appearance quite easily. People are always getting redone to look like some alien race for undercover missions. I often wondered why if they bothered her so much why didn't she just have them removed? And offer the choice to her daughter when she reaches a certain age. No need for angst.
Having said that, though...I did like Lineage.

Anytime, 2takesfrakes (is there a shorter verison of this name?). She'll soon come in some Paxau pictures in the selfsame outfit.
Like Lynx, I'm also not sure what you meant by that comment about Kes? Would you mind throwing some light on that? Were you talking about the events in WARLORD or ... was it something else?

Well it seems in Star Trek that by the end of the episode characters go back to their normal looks, which suggests to me that the change can either only be maintained temporarily or that it might have negative or at least unforeseen implications over the long term. Also, maybe a character feels they cease to be who they are if such radical chages are made to their appearance. The only exception is, of course, Seven of Nine who - as Arturis put it on HOPE AND FEAR - is "much more attractive than the average drone" after the Doctor changes her looks. But in her case it is understandable because she needs to be different from what she used to be.

LINEAGE is so good! I remember reading somewhere that both Roxann Dawson and Robert Duncan McNeill burst into tears more than once because they were so moved by the story.

Seska changed her looks and it didn't seem to have affected her long term, physically at least.
Not saying it would have been the best thing to do but it could have been done.

Sir, the House of Frakes likes long names, because there are some short people in the family, so they need a little something extra to give them stature. Even I am just shy of 2 meters! So, do spell out my name in its entirety - if you please. Every last syllable ... every hint of punctuation, sir!
I don't even know how it happened, but I did get confused, there, on the title of the episode. "Alter Ego," of course, is to do with a woman whose face you wouldn't want to wipe your feet on. She uses the Holodeck to give her the edge she desperately needs to entice the likes of Harry Kim into becoming interested in her. "Darkling" is the episode where the lovely Kes gets tossed into the depths. Perhaps, I was trying to multitask at the time, as I say, I don't know what caused my confusion, there. In any case, yes ... B'Elanna looks very fresh in that dress she wore for "Alter Ego" and should've trotted it out, more often.

Yes, Mr. Frakes ... I mean Mr. 2takesfrakes :brickwall: ... I stand corrected ... and will use your full name in the future. (BTW, does "2" refer to the fact that you have a twin brother? :rommie:)

This is a pardonable sin ... I guess ... :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
So you don't like DARKLING? I quite enjoy it actually. Especially the walk Kes takes with Zahir when he shows her that piece of rock with the luminous signs. "My course is as elusive as a shadow across the sky." And I really liked how Kirsten Beyer incorporated this motif into one of the VOY relaunch novels later.

She looks great in it but my fav costume of hers was the one she wore on BARGE OF THE DEAD.
But then I'm not attracted to women ... so that might explain it, LOL! :guffaw:

My username is actually the nickname of the actor/director Jonathan Frakes, himself. This video has Mr. Frakes explaining the origins of "Two Takes Frakes," personally ...

As for "Darkling," I'm fine with the episode, up until Kes got flung. I have to press Stop ... and then Fast Forward ... but everything else, I'm alright with. Whenever Kes is given a boyfriend other than a hyæna, we're off to a good start ...

And yes, B'Elanna looks amazing in all of her states ... even in "Barge of the Dead," though I don't care for butchies, myself, really. But Roxann's beauty shines through, anyway ...

Well, I don't really like that scene either. But "Darkling" is one of my favorite Voyager episodes.

Where and how did Beyer include that? Was Kes involved in any way?

Kes occasionally comes up in the relaunch novels for a page or two. She even has/had a son.
Are you sure you're not going to read them? Anyway, SPOILER WARNING!
Captain Eden will be head of the Voyager Fleet (9 ships altogether with Voyager taking the lead). Their mission: to go back to the DQ and find out whether the borg have really vanished from the galaxy. But Captain Eden is tortured by visions on this quest and for some inexplicable reason she feels that she has to check out that piece of rock which Kes and Zahir visited together. She can't explain it but she definitely knows that what Kes saw on that journey is a map ... and an incomplete one at that. So she has to find the missing pieces of the map - and learn secrets about her own past no one could ever have imagined. Least of all she.
Will this do for an explanation?
