Have been out of town this weekend and wasn't really on much.......don't really have a good understanding of what the brouhaha was about RE: that video of LFIM on startrek.com or wherever, but I gather that was the biggest development??
Anyhow, I listened to this latest episode and once again, well done to all. Mike seemed to be quite well adjusted too from what I heard.............

"Alec creating guidelines is like Pablo Escobar creating drug distribution rules........"
"Did she just shush me?!"
Mike's rant at approx. 1:37:00
One question I have though that relates to what Shana(?) was saying about proposed guidelines affecting fan fic authors, artists etc. I can understand the powers that be wanting to possibly rein in fan film producers, but what would be the logic behind reining in artists/bloggers and the like?? If you throw up a website about starships, or create some amazing orthos and put em on DeviantART, what possible reason could there be for C/P to bring the hammer down on you??
Pretty much any fan is going to recognize such work as being unofficial, pretty much every site I've come across has a disclaimer up stating their material is based on content from/property owned by C/P (or something to that effect) and absolutely
none (that I've seen) have offered their work up for sale, charged for content or otherwise been monetized in some way.......
