CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

Did Tommy Kraft get $300? I got the impression he was unpaid from his post - $300 is still REALLY low for the amount of work involved, just curious (for factual reasons etc).

Fair assessment on costs etc. Thats one of the issues I have - not just with Axanar to be completely fair. Peters' report highlighted that they didn't *need* that money, or to build sets etc - but they wanted it. To the same degree I can say the same for other productions expenses - there's a lot of stuff they don't need to tell the story.

I'm not suggesting anyone who spends what they don't have to as being scammers at all in the slightest. But $1.3 million is ambition, greed and project creep gone mad when there's bugger all to show for it and a statement saying "We could have used this set, but we deserve better"
If I recall correctly from Tommy's most recent post, $300 is the sum he was offered to work on the Axanar feature himself - all the work he did for Prelude was completely free of charge.

1.3 million dollars raised and they offered him just 300? Yeah, he turned them down.

Thank you for clearing that up,
So to be clear Tommy did 95% of the work for a production said to cost $70 grand and was paid nothing for it. Alex is smarter than I thought...

I can't help but wonder if these rules are designed to hurt STC, STR and P2 more than anyone else.

That is evident since we all know they dont get along so to speak and its almost like a Fu tbh the way they read as we all know! Alec has a big list of donors to draw upon if he needs them.

Maybe also these 'rules' are in place to cover his own ass. After sinking so much money into studio rent, Peters' pot is getting low, his friends are deserting him and Axanar is in trouble.

And lo, all of a sudden we get a 'no movies' rule: all fan films have to be 50 minutes or fewer. Well, that's one way for Peters to screw over his backers, downgrade his movie into just an episode, then claim his hands were tied by these rules that he imposed on himself.

Why make a feature when you can get away with something smaller in scale? It would mean less expenditure, more profit, and he can claim he had no choice in the matter.

In a way, it's genius.

I'll be nice and not make you read everything. In reality she works for a school system and has her own literary agency. She also has wrote fanfic as mentioned in the video which has to do with Picard/Riker slash which she connects very heavily to PTSD and abuse, which makes Riker have a relationship with Picard.

I first came across Leslie Christmas 2014. Then she was spouting victory about breaking the story about Roberto Orci not being a part of Trek 3 after being fired something like 40 days before it actually happened.

She continued to say that she had signed NDAs regarding the future of Trek but continued to spout off nonsense about how she had inside information about the future of Star Trek on TV and that it would be announced Q1 2015 and that it would definitely put the reboots to the side because CBS HATES JJ Abrams and that it would be back in the Prime Universe. There was also a lot of talk about how there were financial concerns about Star Trek Into Darkness and that JJ took a huge chunk of the budget for ID and pocketed it. Not to mention that she kept spouting that because Trek 3 had no script and that it wasn't being worked on early 2015 that there was no budget and therefore no film. Her denial continued right up through casting and the start of production. She even claimed that our good friend Dennis was actually bankrolling Beyond. Because, you know, he's rich.

She plays the victim at every turn. She is an avid Axanar supporter. She has no grasp on the creation of films nor does she understand the idea of an NDA... And yeah, she's crazy.

Back on topic, "Axanar the Movie" is pretty much dead at this point. The judge told them that since there was no injunction they were free to proceed, but there has been no progress. In my opinion, there won't be any progress because AP has spent all the donor money paying expenses and building his studio facility.

I think he wants a settlement as soon as possible, including the "guidelines" that will prevent him from making the movie. That's what the effort to unite other productions behind him has been about. He hopes to keep the studio, since it's apparently been handed over to the new investor group (read AP, RMB, & "partners"). His move to rent the space to another production will inject some cash, but the Axanar film will never be made.

The donors waiting for their perks will continue to wait until Axanar Productions is shut down, but I predict that the donor store will remain open for as long as the court allows.

This reeks of a giant scam that started out the same as Alec's others, but I think that he was genuinely surprised that it has come to this. He still thinks he's done nothing wrong.

The answer from the defense tells me that either Erin Ranahan is showboating, or LFIM is dictating the text of these documents.

If I were a real attorney, not just "by training," no way would I let a client run the case. Ranahan is no idiot. There's a strategy here, but I can't see it. If she's not in this just for publicity at this point, I have no earthly idea what she's up to.
