Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

Maybe I'm remembering a different terrible film with Ron Perlman dressed up as Space Dracula, but I honestly don't recall a lot of action in Nemesis. Especially compared to First Contact, or hell, even Insurrection.
Well, the most notorious and infamous example is the ATV scene were Worf guns down pre-warp drive aliens while Picard drives.

But, it also have one of my favorite scenes of Data helping Picard escape and flying a ship through the corridors of the Scimitar.

And there is nothing of the motorcycle scene that indicates it will be like that. It's painting Lin in to a corner that it must be a F&F omage to assume that fact. Actually, the motorbike makes more sense given the fact that we have seen Kirk drive a bike before. Picard had never shown an interest in driving and TNG Trek had never had any wheeled vehicles of any kind that I can recall.

It all feels like very surface level arguments.

*sighs* Because Star Trek, especially films, have never, ever, had action. And, if it appeared in Nemesis it must be bad.

Thats one thing that always bugs me when an action sequence pops up and theres outcry.

Picard is one example of that. In the TV show budget with this aura of 'perfect conflict free humans' and Picard still being seen as a tea drinking pacifist who talked his enemies to death... he jumped over things and punched people a fair amount considering that reputation.

There was a point when Picard was more punch happy than Riker :/

I love the dirt bike.

And the idea that Kirk would never ride one is pretty fracking ridiculous. Kirk Prime was clearly an extreme sports guy. Take that and add in nuKirk's step-dad/uncle/whatever's love of 20th century vehicles, and you get dirk bike. It's not far-fetched at all.

I like it. Not just for the logic of it, but a lot of Star Trek hobbies are just plain boring. Classical music, horse riding, antiques, period drama's in the holodeck, fencing....

The idea that to be a civilised society you must cut out anything that doesn't involve a nice cup of tea and cucumber sandwiches is a little ridiculous. I imagine teenage rebellion in the Next Gen era involves quietly sitting in your room with a math puzzle listening to Mozart while you contemplate the meaning of your actions over a soothing green tea :(

I was under the impression that in order for a scene to reach notoriety, a decent amount of people have to have actually seen Nemesis.

I'm very disappointed in the motorcycle controversy. It is nowhere near as entertaining as the "Enterprise built on Earth" and "Enterprise hidding under water" controversies of the last two films...:p

Can we please stop to posting "trailer view counts" from Youtube here?

There's literally nothing to learn from that information except "More people around the world have Internet now than a few years before".

The only fair comparison would be to other current trailers from the same year (but trailers, not teasers), and even that is flimsy at best, since it mostly represents how many people are rewatching those trailers (Batman v. Superman had way more views than CA:Civil War, Ghostbusters has way more views than Trek...) AKA what reddit currently obsesses about. No information about how many real people saw the trailer - in Cinemas for example. Not just dorks on the internet. And I really don't care for that type of circlejerk.

I was reading spoilers and the first thing that sprung to my mind was Star Trek: Rescue. I liked it.
