Remember such rules would also effect shows like Star Trek: Continues and Star Trek: New Voyages which are known for their TOS style length episodes (50-ish minutes long). So don't wish so poorly just because of Axanar.

I think this will be the lasting legacy of this whole mess, constricting guidelines which curtail the 50 minute episodes that have been common recently. I suspect 5 or 10 minute shorts will be all they're allowed. But it only end up illustrating the flaws in 'fandom guidelines' because all that'll happen is STC starts releasing 'Episode 7.... part one of 10'

I don't wish for that. If anything I wish for those guys to be left alone and maybe there's some waiver for them as they're producing TOS-era episodic fanfilms. One can only hope that CBS will be as fair with those guys as they appear to have been with Axanar.

CBS' settlement leaves AP living out of his rusted beat-up car and barred from anything Trek.
AP forever remains pariah in the fan community.

And why would CBS/P allow him to announce this? It should have come from the legal dept, no?

I don't really care what happens to Alec Peters, and would be perfectly happy never to have to think about him again, as long as things can get back to reasonably normal for the good guys (meaning basically all other fan film makers).

My position I'm sure has been made abundantly clear - with the egregious, despicable and utterly abhorrent way His Holiness LFIM (and his cohorts) has conducted himself and treated others, I'd prefer to see him cleaned out and in a soup kitchen line.

That being said, if there's some way he can be swept under a rug so the rest of us can be spared having to listen/watch his bloviating.....I'm all for it. Like someone else said earlier, his name is literally mud now and even if comes out a pariah, I'm sure no serious professional in that town would touch him with a 30-foot pole.
