So as I now have a BSc (well almost, I just need a final grade mark and a cert - but that's just a technicality really) to my name and after checking if a Science theme had been carried out (it has) and because it was so long ago (five years) I thought it would be acceptable to carry out a new Science based avatar contest.

Normal Avatar rules apply given image size and file size, no general TV/Film sources (Documentaries and Current Affairs based are okay) and I'll close this say on Tuesday 24th May at noon my time.

Hope that all makes sense.

OK, how about this?

So... any image as long as it's related to science, somehow? Sorry, I'm not really clear on the topic.

(Oh, and congratulations on your degree! :D)

Ah, Science. Can never have enough science avatar contests. It was probably me that did the last one. :rommie:

And I have just the thing:

This is what the Universe thinks of our fumbling attempts to understand it.

Yep, that's fine.

Firstly cheers and secondly, yep, vague I know, but I decided not restrict it to a particular branch of science, although given the quote I mis-use in the title, maybe Biology would have been a good shout for it.

So, would "Mythbusters" count as a sort of documentary-like source?

I was actually thinking of that when I said documentary/current affairs programmes.

OK, well my first thought was to take the title a little too literally, and go with fossilized dinosaur poop. But that doesn't make for a very attractive avatar. So I decided to go with this animated (and highly stylized) image of a classical model of an atom:

If this is not acceptable because it's not a "real" image, let me know, and I can change it.

This entry literally has science and poo: from the "Mythbusters" episode where Jamie and Adam discover that yes -- you can polish a turd:

So I thought I said noon, today, not yesterday, so if anyone new wants to enter an avatar (and I'd better sort mine) and I'll leave it open till tomorrow morning to let people have a chance to enter.

You forgot to link it to the previous thread, so, if others are like me, they missed seeing it...:)...I hope you remember to link the voting thread to this one.
