For all those blaming Sandy Greenburg for refund issue....

Just a fyi he didnt ask for a refund he was banned from all Axanar oages and given one without even asking and when he complained saying all he wanted was answers to questions he was told you got your refund so why does it matter.

So dont blame him for Alec being a C**T

A million times this. This made me furious so I can only imagine how annoyed this must have made Sandy. It's one of the worst things I think to have happened so far since the law suit started.

Awful lies.

A week after a federal judge used Alec Peters' social media postings to justify denying the defense's dismissal motion, Peters claims he's going quiet:
All, I will be stepping away from this group and all social media while we now move forward with the lawsuit. Hopefully we will settle this matter and I will be back. Our efforts will be focused on settling the lawsuit, preparing Axanar for the future, and making sure we can pay the rent by renting the studio.
How long will it last do we think?

Not so much Paramount groupies, but groupies of law and justice.

It's no surprise that many Trek fans have a vested interest in the legal well-being of the franchise, and hope that its rightful owners remain protected.

Ah, jespah groupies.

But you're right. We might not always like what the rights holders are doing with the franchise, but it's nothing compared to the mess that Star Trek would become if it lacked copyright protection.

Not talking about the content here but you might want to give it a once over for a final edit to improve the grammar. Some of the sentences could do with rearranging to make them read better.

For example the opening sentence. The "that" seems out of place:

Also further down the article this sentence is unwieldy and goes on far too long:

Als there are a few commas missing or in the wrong place:

Could do with just a final polish to improve the grammar.
:)
It's just another example of people who call themselves "journalists" without backing it up with professionalism and a mastery of the language.

Let's simplify it even further: imagine a world where somone could steal your stuff, and that was considered completely acceptable so long as the thief and his friends really, really wanted your television.

That's kinda how socialism works in some countries right? ;D

It's always been about keeping the studio. How did they expect to pay the rent of they made the film? Oh that's right. Rent the studio. Not making Axanar saves money!

"CBS/Paramount are Copyright Trolls - Beyond Bored of Star Trek Reboot"

That is an awful and misleading title. Shame on you.

Neil
YUP.
I also object to the weighted statement at the end:

It's difficult to speculate on the true motives of Axanar owner, Alec Peters.
  • Was he driven to build his own contribution to the Star Trek universe, but got caught up in some bad decisions along the way?
  • Or was his master plan to make a fortune through a crowdfunded Star Trek fanfiction movie project?
The latter seems difficult to believe, like the plot of some strange movie. But it's for the court to decide.
Reword that second option to something like...
  • Or was his master plan to set up a film studio business by bankrolling it's construction costs with the lure of Star Trek IP?
...and suddenly it becomes less like the plot of some strange movie and more like a traditional con. You still present the two versions of Alec (one honest but naive, one greedy and dishonest) and both have an equal weight depending on how the reader views the evidence.

Neutral journalism this is not.
