Trek 2017 TV Show Teaser

The only thing we can really take from this trailer is that there's a new Star Trek series coming next year.
Sure, but the sense I got is that the major villains will be new. Of course, it could mean that the main villain will be the Borg king (Patrick Stewart guest appearances.)New villains? Yes. That doesn't mean only new villains, I would imagine.
Looks like they're confirming an anthology series to me.
Right now an anthology seems possible, but I'd be willing to bet the rest of Faraci's story is definitely not. However there isn't enough information yet to say for sure. But the release of this teaser is a sign that marketing will start quite soon.
Here are my thoughts.
I still think this is going to be post ds9/voy since it is hard to add new villains in a prequel/in-between series unless they are very minor. The crews things confirms some type of anthology I think,. The divided star fleet symbol I'm thinking is some kind of divided or broken federation. So sometime post voyager something happened to the federation and it isn't what it is and we'll tell that story through multiple crews and ships over multiple seasons. One long story from multiple povs.
That is what I think and I think they could be cool if done well. A ship you see one season could be the ship we join the next season and then we may see people from last years crew.
We'lll see.

Pretty much my thought on the matter.
I think it will get a subtitle but they are not yet ready to reveal that just yet.
If it ends up being a seasonal anthology, my money is on it being called just "Star Trek".

It was a good teaser. I wonder how I'm going to differentiate "Star Trek" now. There's Star Trek (60s), Star Trek 09, and I guess Star Trek ('17). I kinda do miss the subtitle but I can live with it. Seeing the various planets in this trailer made me all excited and giddy.

If it is an anthology that's the approach I'd like. Too many people want an anthology just so they can have whole seasons about every single Star Trek character.
