TOS Stamp Sightings from Canada Post

I was quite surprised to see this when I visited Canada Post's website to track a package today! Too bad there aren't more details available yet, but it's nice to see some Canadian things crop up for the 50th anniversary.

If there's going to be more in the series than just the two they've shown so far, then I would think it would be appropriate to feature Scotty on one, too...

Since this is being released in May, I wonder if Canada Post takes pre-orders for their stamps on their web site like the US Postal Service?

Looks like we're also getting stamps featuring Commander Kor (played by Canadian actor John Colicos), and the Klingon battlecruiser!

I'm not exactly sure how that works, but there doesn't seem to be anything available to order on their online store yet.

I visited Canada Post today and got a pleasant surprise. The Star Trek stamps go on sale on May 5th. Our local post office got their shipment of stamps in today but can't release them until Thursday. I also go to have a look at a special book they have. They are not just offering single stamps; there are special sets being offered and I saw one framed piece with a signed photo of Shatner, along with the stamp, envelope, etc. Also, and I didn't get enough time to have a long look at the book (I hope to do so again on Thursday), but it looks like there will also be commemorative coins issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary. MTF.

Nice! Thanks for the heads-up!

Just ordered the "lenticular" and Enterprise first day covers, and the Enterprise and Klingon battle cruiser souvenir sheet.

Thought about buying the most expensive piece, the signed and framed Shatner print...but in the end, took Federation President Ra-ghoratreii's advice that "just because we can do a thing, it does not necessarily mean we must do that thing." :)

A bit late to the party, but Odona Kirk has given you the correct info. I bought 2 copies of the first day cover sets, one for myself and one for a birthday gift for a friend in the US as well as a roll of stamps to use. Canadians can go right to their Canada Post offices (including the Shoppers Drug Mart locations) to pick up items directly. Not every location has every item, though.

As a canadian, I ca say these stamps have seen quite the publicity here. I've even seen full body ads on the side of a few canada post vehicles. I think it's in large part due to us being proud of shatner as a Canadian.
