That would be me.
Remember to stay hydrated. Because we'll be too busy watching to check on you.

I will naturally watch it, regardless of the setting, but I have to say that I'm pretty exited about these rumours of prime universe show, and I will be severely disappointed if it doesn't happen. Why? Post-Nemesis wouldn't be my first choice (or second through sixtieth), but if the show ends up being set there, I'll roll with it. Life's too short to get wound up over it.

Probably. I just want to see well done traditional Trek show, preferably in prime universe, and I think Meyer and Fuller could deliver. I like the both the rumoured time periods, post-TUC and post-Nemesis. I think both have interesting political situation that could easily spawn nice stories. It's odd. Nothing has really excited me about this show so far. None of the names attached, none of the rumors about it.
I'm guessing we're just too far out at this point.

I'd believe the post TUC-rumor over the post-Nemesis rumor. The former has the advantage of being set in an era where the general audience can expect to know what's going on right off the bat, since most people are familiar with Starfleet, Klingons, etc.
But the same would be true of the post-Nemesis era. Unless it takes place very very far in the future there's a pretty good chance the big players would still be around.I'd believe the post TUC-rumor over the post-Nemesis rumor. I'm getting a kick right now thinking of a show about Federation politics done in the mold of "Veep."Though I'd want more of an exploration based show than one about Federation politics.
That's funny. Just the fact that there is a new Star Trek series makes me excited by itself! I do have a few preferences about what I'd like, but in general I just hope that they tell great stories! It's odd. Nothing has really excited me about this show so far. Of course it's about the journey. But frankly, who cares about the journey if we all are already familiar with the destination and how we got there?
In what way? It's the same galaxy without Vulcan but with one extra Vulcan (less billions). The same writers would be there in either case making up stuff.I hope it's a series set in the JJ Abrams Universe because there's a lot to explore in that world.
Heh, Columbo usually figured it out in the first few minutes as well, he just messed with the bad guys for the next 45m.How about Columbo? They started every episode by showing you whodunnit. Then the entire episode was watching Columbo gradually figure out a puzzle we already solved in the first few minutes.
