Agents of SHIELD: Season 3 - Discussion (SPOILERS LIKELY)

Eeeee! Gideon Malick lives in Stately Wayne Manor!! And judging from the architecture, it looks like they actually shot in the interior and out back of the location (actually 380 South San Rafael Avenue in Pasadena), as well as just the front that's so familiar from Batman '66.

So was Malick's vision wrong? Judging from last week, the future is immutable. So is Malick still going to be killed by Hive, or did he experience the death from the inside and just assume he was experiencing his own instead of his daughter's?

A nice idea to cut Giyera off from objects he could hurl, so that they could let Mark Dacascos show off his martial arts skills. Putting it in a spare white room was an interesting choice too. Still too much quick cutting between camera angles in the fight scenes, though.

To hell with Milton, check out some Shakespeare!

So is Malick still going to be killed by Hive
Yes...if anything, they've set it up by giving Malick a reason to turn against Hive.

But I'm not convinced that it will be Hive that kills him...we didn't see him in the vision, did we?

When did the flashbacks take place? I had my eyes off the screen and think I missed a date on the screen.

What is the limit on the types of things Giyera can control? Why couldn't he control someone's clothes?
Even though they keep saying he can control any non-organic substance, I can't think of a single example of him controlling something that wasn't at least significantly metallic. (Keep in mind, too, that this is the same setting where Magneto allegedly uses magnetism to control non-ferrous metals. So saying one is a master of magnetism and the other is just a telekinetic with a limitation to metals is kinda the same thing, really. Magneto can just do a few different tricks beyond telekinesis.)

So the Red Skull and later Dr Whitehall represented the rational scientific fascist wing of Hydra but there were also a religious wing that didn't emerge during WWII. With perhaps more if MCU television survives and we need new story ideals
I mean, what possible use could an Inhuman killing machine that only kills Inhumans possibly be when going up against an ancient Inhuman monster who won't kill Inhumans?:evil:
Remembering that he walked away from a stunned Daisy in an overturned van instead of killing i would say.
that he won't make humans or Inhumans under government control be it Kree or the US/SHIELD his primary target but he doesn't seem to care about collateral damage unless that hospital guard was another Inhuman among us. A biological Inhuman destruct button he is.

The flashbacks take place in 1970.
I am getting old, I was thinking 1970 was too late for Powers Booth and the scene should have been back into the 60s but nope it fits for him.

In hindsight, the idea that there was a more "religious" American faction of Hydra that went undetected makes a certain kind of sense. If nothing else it would account for how Hydra were able to infiltrate the SSR via the US Government during Cap's transformation. Also adds a little bit more credence to the idea that Zola could have rebuilt Hydra from within SHIELD if he had supporters already embedded in the upper echelons of industry and government.

It's like if the Thule society and the Skull And Bones society were secretly the same thing (or Freemasons, Illuminati, Majestic-12, take your pick.)

So who are we placing bets on for who dies by the end of the season? If it is just a straight up death that is, like Triplett in Season 2 (remember him?) rather than like Ward's.

Obviously it won't be Coulson or Daisy, I can't see it being Fitz or Simmons, so I'm gonna wager on May.

It makes sense to get her out of the way. They are writing her 53 years old body to take out anyone in hand to hand combat. Rhonda Rhousy just lost after the world was accepting her as the most badass woman on earth

ATTENTION! ATTENTION! Clark Gregg and Hayley Atwell will be competing on Lip Sync Battle April 21st on Spike!

You have been warned,
Awesome.
Last night's episode wasn't quite at the same level as last week's but was still good.
I like learning more about Malick, although I guessed pretty quickly that his brother was one of Hive's hosts. His daughter's death was a big surprise, which was kind of nice. So often I see stuff coming, like with his brother, so it's nice when they do something I don't expect. I don't think that was what Malick saw though, it looked like she died differently than he did in his vision. So I'm thinking his days are probably still numbered.
May's fight with Giyera was very good.
I'm very curious what the Kree tech Lincoln and Daisy got will be, I'm assuming it will be some kind of weapon to use against Hive.
It was nice getting to learn a bit more about Lincoln's past.

Because a random boxer can compare to one of the worlds best special forces assassins?

Pretty sure the matches would end about 300% faster with the steroidal morons beaten to a pulp without knowing what happened to them.

I figured that out as soon as we saw the flashback of the brothers tossing the stone in the pond, after we'd seen Hive do the same in front of Gideon. No doubt that was Hive confirming to Malick that he did retain Nathaniel's memories.

His daughter's death was a big surprise, which was kind of nice.

I half-expected that, because it's unfortunately all too common in fiction for female characters to be killed off by one male character to "send a message" or "make a point" to another male character. It was possible that Hive would've killed Gideon and made the daughter his new ally, and that's what we were being led to expect, but it came as no surprise when it went the more predictable route.

Considering it looked like Malick was wearing a blur jumpsuit in his death vision, I'm wondering if he isn't the guy in the exploding quinjet.

assassin, who? She was Coulson's bodyguard who killed in the line of duty and went on desk duty because she was so wounded. From there all of Coulson's plans assume that hand to hand that she will take out any collection of Hydra or someone who tested just below Romanoff.

Shield and Hydra, people who could vanish like shadows, call on resources entire nations could only dream of and who could hide behind helicarriers and alien technology all seemed to fear May in any one-to-one senario. That's not an easy reputation to obtain.

Or my point maintain. Kobe Bryant retires today after staying two seasons too long. Occasionally he has a big game but the Lakers could no longer count on big games being a regular occurrence

Which doesn't really address the writing off of someone via ageism to build up showboating television "fighters" who are an entirely different matter altogether. She's a highly trained agent who keeps in shape and should not be dismissed so derisively.
