Good Luck Andy!!!

I know you would do a great job in the TOS style
Thanks, but I think the new series would be more contemporary in style than the TOS scores. Perhaps like the Horner or Goldsmith approach would be the way to go. Obviously with a much smaller, TV budget orchestra.

For the opening titles I would use a variant of the original Trek theme. This worked well for TNG, because the theme had become a sort of Trek signature.

How about Two Steps from Hell doing the music? Every time I hear a new song of theirs it always sounds awesome, well to me at least.

Also, I prefer suspenseful music so I voted for that :)

I think Harry Gregson-Williams is a super underrated composer, and could very well be the perfect pick for a new Star Trek series.

Anyone who's played the MGS series will know what I mean when I say this guy means business.

I absolutely loath the current trend of heavy, dark and brooding soundtracks. Harry Gregson-Williams, Tom Holkenberg and the like are all protogés of Hans Zimmer, one of the most overrated composers of all time. I hope they don't go down that route.

I for one would suggest they bring back Ron Jones (he's doing the music for Seth McFarlane's animated series). Another television series I watch that has a great soundtrack is The Good Wife by composer David Buckley. He only gets to work with a small orchestra on that show, but give him a larger one and more free reign to write for a scifi show and I think the results be surprisingly great.

Chris Bacon, the composer for Source Code would be another fabulous choice.

Clint Mansell has written a number of great movie soundtracks, including Pi and Moon:

For all the show's flaws, I loved the music for Stargate Universe. It was a world away from the SG-1 and SGA music. I'd like to see a new Trek do something similarly different.

This. A thousand times this.

I was considering the comments by USS Einstein.....

As I recall, Forbidden Planet used electronic music. (Perhaps there could be a blurring of music/sound effects?) Perhaps such could be a sort of signature for a new Trek series.

Heather Kadin mentioned during an interview that it was Fil Eisler who did the music for the teaser.

We wanted to show fans…we’re super-excited by the score that this amazing composer, Fil Eisler, threw together as an audition and he did an incredible job. The concepts of the ship are totally what we’re going for and they’ll be honed up until, I think, the day we deliver.”

I think we have our guy.

Just to get a taste of what else he's done...

I'm going to say the man's name just once.

Alan Silvestri.
Tell me that wouldn't be awesome?
