iZombie season 2 discussion thread

How fast does a brain affect the behaviour of a zombie? Blaine became a bleeding heart after just few bites! :guffaw:

Stripper Liv was fun. Ravi's dance was hilarious. :techman:

Poor Blaine. He's like a little lost puppy.

Rita definitely has the brain munchies, and is now in bigger trouble. I wonder if Liv has noticed the scarf on the floor.

The final moments... Oh Shitake mushrooms!

I wonder if Liv has noticed the scarf on the floor.

She saw it, but was then distracted by the arrival of Peyton and the boys.

I wonder if Blaine's amnesia is setting up Liv's dilemma for the season finale -- she can be cured, but only at the cost of losing her memory and identity. Then again, it's hard to imagine Blaine being permanently removed from the action, so the effect will probably wear off in time, or something.

Major needs to learn to communicate more efficiently. If he'd just shouted, "They're frozen, not dead!" instead of starting with all the "It's not what you think, you have to listen to me" stuff, things would've gone very differently.

Forgetful Blaine is no fun.

Major should have also yelled "Max Rager made me do it! I did it for Liv!"

But then there wouldn't have been any drama.

I wonder who took Rita?

Probably one of Du Clark's goons. He's all about the damage control. It's a bad enough scandal if people learn that Max Rager creates zombies -- imagine if it were known he'd let his own daughter become one.

I think it was explicitly Du Clark's enforcer, whom we have seen before.

And, yes, I have trouble keeping the Gilda/Rita thing straight, too.

So here's a question: who is the true Big Bad on this show: Du Clark, Mister Boss, or Blaine?

Du Clark and Blaine both. Although, Blaine's relatively toothless since the end of the first season. Mr. Boss is just another victim waiting to happen (as soon as the zombie plague catches up to him). Unless he manages to turn it to his advantage somehow (zombie enforcers?).

But didn't we learn recently that Boss was the one behind the "tainted Utopium" in the first place? That Blaine was working for him when he sold it at the party? The zombie condition is the result of T.U. and Max Rager combined, so Boss and Du Clark are equally responsible. And they're both in control of corrupt, far-reaching empires, one criminal and one corporate (insert "what's the difference" crack here). So for now, at least, I think they're both the Big Bads.

So Major is a zombie. Rita is a zombie. And Blaine is temporarily a human. Again.

At the very least, Major's zombie kidnapping days are over since he won't be able to detect them anymore. Speaking of which, they didn't show Blaine's hairs raising when he saw Liv in the morgue, did they? Hmm.

Also, FBI lady is totally on to Ravi. I hope he doesn't get blamed for helping Major. Who edited the report to claim that it was bovine brains, not humans? Was that Ravi too? If so, I'm worried for him.

They're both powerful bad guys, but Du Clark is the one who actually knows what they caused and is using it for his own ends. Right now, Mr. Boss is completely in the dark and it seems like that's ultimately going to wind up killing him. If he does survive finding out the truth, then I would consider him a big bad, since he'll probably react just like Blaine did (or worse).

Major's thoughts at the end of the episode: We're in some real fruity shit now!

Enrico Colantoni as a corrupt cop? Say it ain't so, Keith Mars!

(Well, he's done a lot worse as organized-crime mastermind Carl Elias on Person of Interest, but still...)

After last week's finale, I'm surprised Ravi gave Major the chance to explain and de-escalate that situation. That wasn't where it looked like it would be going. I guess they needed to wait one more episode before Major's scheme really started to go to hell.

Now that Rita has the full-on white hair and pale skin, I hardly recognize her. I'd have trouble telling her apart from Liv if her hair weren't so much longer.

^ Same. She and Liv look so similar it's creepy.

Rita was so thinking "Come here, Daddy. I want to crack open your skull with my bare hands!"

Two-parter season finale next week!

man, i did not expect the episode to end like that. i figured they would draw out the whole thing about the FBI/Police knowing about Major a bit longer.

Good finale, which seems to set us up for a whole new plotline next season, while expanding the iZombie universe.

Spoilers . . ..

Glad to see Clive finally brought into the loop. Sad to see Gilda/Rita dispatched. Surprised to see that Mr. Boss remains a threat . . . .

And turning Seattle into a "zombie homeland"? Whoa. Do Amazon and Microsoft know about this? What about Boeing?

i too was sad that Rita didn't make it. could have been interesting to have her in the mix next season. i'm happy that Clive knows everything...but i hate what it cost him. i hope they don't continue the whole Peyton/Blaine thing next season.
