Saw it Saturday afternoon. It was okay at best. There was a lot of potential here that was utterly wasted. Affleck was great. Gadot was very good. Cavill would be good (if he had some decent material to work with). I hated Eisenberg. I just don't like Snyder and the writers' take on Superman. I'm not saying he needs to be as optimistic as the Chris Reeves Superman but I'd like to see him, at least, be a little less emo. I think there was some missed opportunities from that regard for the clash of ideologies that the movie should really have been about. I was actually with the movie for the most part until Doomsday showed up. Then the movie lost me. C+. Would have been up a tick without Doomsday.

I love me a good fight scene.

Guess I don't get the overwhelming positive gushing about Wonder Woman. She was barely even in the movie, not really much there to comment on one way or the other. Couple fun scenes as Diana toying with Bruce, and then randomly shows up for the fight scene at the end, doesn't say a word, and jumps around for a minute. Did I miss it? Was hoping she'd be more of a factor, but really wasn't...

Glad she made it in, and hopeful that her solo movie will be good, but she really wasn't big in this one.

WW got the biggest cheers at the show I attended. I thought she made quite an impression.

Go back four decades to the Hong Kong action cinema and Kung Fu flicks of the '70s. With most of those movies, was there really any point besides the fight scenes (which were really, really good)?

Those movies are specifically made as action fests and they have quite a bit of artistry and even humor woven in. Most of the stuff we get here involves a lot of back and forth punching. That's rarely fun or exciting, so I've never understood it when people say they want less story and more punching.

Yeah WW may not have been in much of the movie, but she still really stood out in the scenes she was in. And just the fact it was the character's first appearance on screen made it feel pretty darn special.

Considering that this movie was about Bats and Supes, I think that Wonder Woman's small role was just fine. She will get more stuff to do in the following movies.

I agree. I did like how they made her look like she was enjoying the fight.

Well, her first live-action appearance on the feature film screen, to be specific -- discounting a 1991 Filipino spoof film. (I was going to say it was her first US feature-film appearance, period, but she did appear briefly in The LEGO Movie, voiced by Cobie Smulders.) But hairsplitting aside, yes, it's a huge deal.

I saw it Sunday with my 16 year old son and when walking out we were both like . . . "I don't get why it got such poor reviews, I thought it was pretty good." Twitter WOM seemed good but reviews were pretty poor so I didn't know what to expect. Perhaps tempered expectations helped but I enjoyed it.

Now was it a masterpiece of cinematography? No, not by any stretch of the imagination. The movies dragged a little, Doomsday seemed far to overcharged with power to seem realistic, Lex Luthor's master plan was so convoluted and illogical that it seemed less made by a genius and more by a Young Adult fiction writer. Still, there was enough character development to satiate me, the story/rationale behind the confrontation seemed plausible enough and it had enough twists and turns to keep me interested.

As for the critical reviews . . . mediocre movies like the Thor movies, Iron Man 2, and The Hulk can all make in the 60s and 70s on RottenTomatoes but this is below 30%??? Seriously? Give me a break.

...Here's hoping this does not signify that a radical reinvention of Darkseid's appearance is on the way. Darkseid should look as close to his comic book likeness as possible IMO.

I think that was Steppenwolf. Looks at least a lot like the New 52 version of that character.

Yeah, that's what people in the YouTube comments were saying, too.

That probably should have remained in the final cut. I imagine it'll make it into the extended cut, at least.

Yeah I might have been pretty disappointed in the movie, but I still don't think it deserved to go any lower than 50% on RT (and MOS shouldn't have gone lower than 65%).

I mean, I get that it's important that the character finally appeared on screen, just questioning what seems like gushing over what was a very minor role. Things to the effect of the movie getting a B-, but wonder woman's contribution brought it up to A-.

As Diana, she looked great in a dress, no question. And she had a couple fun/flirty/spy vs. spy moments with Bruce, but that was kinda the entire role. Wasn't counting, but if I said she had 10 lines of dialog, you'd have to admit I was in the ballpark, no?

As Wonder Woman, I honestly can't remember if she actually spoke a single word. Anyone remember? I think she just stood in front of the wind machine to get perfect flowing hair, and screamed when she jumped at Doomsday.

I'm glad she was in the movie, and definitely good that she's getting her own movie. And that it's ahead of the JL mashup. Just feel it's more than a stretch to say her role in any way saved the movie, or even elevated it much. She had an extended cameo, really. I LIKED what she brought as Diana, just wish there was more of it.

Aquaman had as many lines as Wonder Woman, and within 2 minutes of the same screen time. ;)

WB really wants that DVD sales moola don't they? Can't even wait a week to release these clips?

Why not use release the DVD next week?

It looks like lack of confidence in what's on screen right now and they're putting all their chips into the DVD sales already
