CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

Why do you assume I correctly read the posts (I do)?
And who is the Great Bird?

Seriously...?

You know, if you liked Star Trek, you would know that Gene is known by the fans as The Great Bird Of The Galaxy

Who is PSL?

You - at my age, I rarely type people's names in full unless I actually respect them such as BillJ, Jespah and others here

How does he have the Defiant to himself? Roddenberry is dead and gone, plus the Defiant is not real. Just in fiction. How could a dead person (who cannot interact with anything) and something which is not real interact?

Okay, sugar, lets make it easy for you to understand...

You said that Roddenberry was dead, to which I replied that I would rather think of him as being on another plane of existence to which RCAm replied with:

He has the Defiant all to himself.

This refers to an episode where Kirk was thought to be dead after being "lost" onboard the starship Defiant.

Because they could make money selling Star Trek as military sci-fi. Doesn't mean either Roddenberry or Paramount approved of that approach.

Paramount licenced a role playing game. Not all of the game supplements were military-oriented. There were mysteries, espionage, even Orion trader stuff.

So... anyone got any Axanar news?

In fairness, it's not a term I've seen used a lot. I don't think the more casual portions of the fan base are really aware of it all that much, or really care to remember. It's like Shaka when the walls fell, or THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS.

Well I can understand why PhaserLightShow is confused as to who you're referring to sugar, cuz you can't even issue an insult correctly. His (or her) initials would be PLS, not, as you say PSL.
He (or she) may not be as schooled in Trek as others are, but your condsending tone is getting old.

I was talking about the Combat Simulator, not the roleplaying game (also referring to all other Star Trek Tactical Combat Games, such as Star Trek Tactical Assault and Starfleet Battles)

*peers*

Oh, yes... bugger - guess this explains why I should not type on here using a tablet device... Darned thing auto corrects

Do you consider me to be a troll? If so, why? And I am schooled in Star Trek a lot (which is just fine).

I think one thing fans have to keep in mind is that CBS/Paramount are only concerned with "Gene's vision" as far as that vision will make them money and bring new viewers to Trek. If that vision doesn't make them money or bring new viewers to Trek then they'll drop it.

Also, I've said it before and I'll say it again: CBS/Paramount care about the largest audience they can possibly sell Star Trek to. That's the demographic they're targeting and that's the demographic they're designing Star Trek for. If war is selling then they'll sell war.

That's how CBS can end up licensing a Star Trek combat game: FASA thought they could make some money with Star Trek and CBS thought they could make some money through FASA.

That's my point.
