He should hire someone to handle his facebook pages and his message board posts. Clearly he is incapable of civil discourse.

Neil

P.S. Perhaps I should have said, "the facebook".

Christ man he missed a single word.

That should be "Christ, man, he missed a single word"

No need to pay me any money to be the forum's script editor

No "facebook" on its own is perfectly okay

so AP is tweeting that

1) Axanar Productions built nothing but a soundstage, just like other fan productions
2) "Ares Studio" is only a nickname for that soundstage.
3) they are not a movie studio, just a non-profit production with a soundstage.
4) the reason they want to use it again is because AP personally signed the lease and the remaining 2 years are not yet paid for (implying he might pay for them)

Misdirection, misdirection, misdirection.

1) they built production offices. they built production infrastructure (buying computer equipment as shown in tweets where it said equipment is being used to do editing). they ran a half million dollar kickstarter just to fund "building infrastructure" and pay rent.
2) Ares Studio is the only "studio" operation that is located in that building, when one looks at the crowdfunding appeals and asks, what studio buildout for future productions are you talking about?
3) ^&*(^&* "non-profit". Prove it. This has a very specific legal meaning, you *cannot* just throw the term around any way you want.
4) really? tell the donors that the facility will be paid for personally in the future, not from present or future donor money.
Here's AP's announcement regarding Ares Studios:
Ares Studios Launches!
http://www.axanarproductions.com/ares-studios-launches/
"The Axanar team is happy to announce that we have signed a lease on 16,000sf warehouse in Valencia, CA. The new home of Axanar Productions will be called “Ares Studios” and you are all part of it because of your donations to the Axanar Kickstarter. We intend to turn this warehouse and office space into a fully functional sound stage. This will allow us to not only make “Axanar” but other Star Trek projects after Axanar and other Sci-Fi projects. (Robert Burnett and I have already acquired the rights to a fantastic book series by David Gerrold.)

The leasing of this warehouse is due to YOU the donors, and thus you are all part of this project. And, it enables us to not only produce “Axanar”, and other Star Trek and Sci-Fi projects, but to bring you Sci-Fi Film School and Axacon, the coolest Star Trek convention ever, where you will actually get to be part of your own film on the Axanar sets." >snipped<

*It sounds to me like AP & Co are doing their usual doubletalk, denials, and spin contradicting themselves ad nauseam when called out on what they are doing.

Not great at customer service is he? Hope The Goddess of Fullfillment doesn't call in sick.
Wow, that tweet is horrible. It's almost seems nice at first because he's wanting her to get better, until you realize it's just because he doesn't want to deal with Twitter. Who is Jenn anyway?

Sorry about going back to such an old post, but I really want to comment.

OK, if this is true, then why are they showing off all of the other offices? If it's just a soundstage, then I'm assuming there would be no production offices as part of the facility.
Does this mean that all of the talk about it being a proffesional studio that they would continue to use, and that they would make available to other production just a load of crap?

Here's a screenshot, in case Lord Alec decides to pull a Burnett and selectively delete anything that might make him look bad.

Actually, Alec is correct in the way he used the word "the"

I think its something to do with the referenced object being an identifiable instance rather than a category of thing. You say "talk to the clerk", but not "talk to the Mike (who is a clerk)". You say "search the internet", but not "search the Google". But then, you say "search the one-and-only Google", and I don't know where that enters the picture.

I am pretty sure one doesn't refer to "the Twitter" unless one is trying to be twee-luddite.

Actually, we do in the part of the UK I am from - it could be a regional dialect thing

AP says one thing, Burnett contradicts AP, then vise versa. It's almost like a comedy skit but those two are serious.
