Whatever happened to the Genesis technology?

Just simple relativity. Distance. He's far enough out into space that one of those bright lights out the window is the events of Star trek 2.
Which has now made me wonder if Tom Paris TV set could pick up actual old earth TV, since far enough away those might be receivable.

He probably could have with the right setup. Voyager had after all 23rd Century antennas and receivers which could have been tuned to the right frequency, to pull in the signals to the TV. It's possible.

I like the intro to the movie "Contact" because they do that whole montage of moving away from Earth and in that scene you hear radio and stuff from various points in space, so I would imagine if you travelled to the right spot at the right speed you could intercept old TV and radio, at least I'd theorize you could. No one's actually tried it.

Let's get a Kickstarter going to launch an unmanned probe far into space to record all those deleted episodes of Doctor Who and whotnot....the project will pay for itself. Unless that's really what Nasa has been up to with the Voyager program all this time.
