    Hi all,

I've always wanted to paint the door to my home office the same color as the bridge doors on the Enterprise E. Since I'm remodeling, I thought this would be a good time. Could anyone possibly help me in identifying the color or color numbers associated with the doors so that I could have that color made? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm going to post this in the trek movies 1-10 section and trek art section just on the off chance someone in one of the forums has the answer that doesn't normally browse the other.

It's hard to tell because it's lit so differently in its three appearances, but the closest match I'm finding from about five minutes of messing around in Photoshop suggests something in the neighborhood of 7630 C, if you're looking for a PMS color.

And it looks like this PMS color closest match in paint is Sherwin Williams SW2802 Rookwood Red

sorry for the late reply guys. for whatever reason, I didn't get notified of the new posts. Thanks a bunch for the suggestions. I'm very unfamiliar with paint and paint matching so this will help! I didn't know that one could get the color code in Photoshop. I've not used it much. I will certainly look into this further. Again, thank you!

Hi Gang. Sorry to resurrect this very old thread (~10 months) but I wanted to give an update. Using your advice and paint suggestions, I was able to match the door color very close, if not exact, to the color on the Enterprise-E. [IMG]

In this thread, Shawnster had given me an exact paint numbers for Sherwin-Williams that would match: Sherwin Williams SW2802 Rookwood Red and I think he/she was right! Pictures are in the folder linked below. The camera really didn't do the paint justice as the paint matches remarkably alike.

Using a barn door style attachment, the door slides into the false wall to the left. Behind the wall on the right was cement block so it could only go one way. I am going to correct the top of the door with a 2x4 and drywall as I didn't build the threshold low enough. It was hard to tell until hung. I also need to install carpeting to know if I need to raise or lower it.

The door is made from some solid wood left from barn construction. The routing grooves were very carefully done based on screencaps I collected in the folder above. The door itself weighs about 70 pounds and measures 48in wide by 72in tall. A very solid door. I "hope" to make it open with a push button but who knows if I'll get around to that.

Additionally, I bought some vinyl stickers from this guy http://www.lcarscom.net/the24thcentury.htm

The signs say "Ready Room" and the "in the event of emergency..." warning seen in the pictures above. I had planned to put them up already but I'm going to get a little metal placard to stick them to made first.

Overall, I am very happy with the door.

So, in conclusion, thank you for reading and thank you for the help everyone!
