Star Trek 4 (4th JJ Abrams movie) be about M5?

Maybe Paramount themselves took it down because it is a fake or someone is leaking information that they are not suppose to. Someone needs authorization to post such material on the IMDB, unless there is someone hacking into the sites servers. The video had been up for almost 5 hours since I spotted it. Only Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto are the only two casted so far. However their signing for a 4th Trek movie had been reported by multiple sources.

Star Trek 4 isn't slated to premiere until 2019. There is no work being done on it yet.

Whether Paramount had any involement in the process or IMDb admins took it down on their own, yes - it's a fake.

... or someone is leaking information that they are not suppose to.
That's what I keep trying to tell you: there is no Star Trek 4 in any stage of production - pre- or otherwise - and thus no information to be leaked.

No one needs authorization to post info on IMDb - anyone can do it, subject to later review and possible removal by site admins - and no one needs to have hacked anything. All kinds of erroneous or outright false info gets posted to IMDb all the time, and mostly it gets cleaned up fairly promptly.

And I'm sure it will be gone again before long.

They have signed contracts with an option for a fourth Star Trek movie. This is not the same as saying that TPTB are actively casting parts for a fourth movie.

Nothing will even begin to happen with a fourth movie until several weeks or months after Beyond has been completed and released. Please wait until then to search for any information concerning Star Trek 4, as anything you find sooner will almost certainly be false.

I thought the current contract for Bad Robot's productions were only extended to 2018? which the actors singing off on *potentially* being in a fourth movie, with no plans for one as yet?

According to this Variety article, what was extended was a "first-look" deal between Bad Robot and Paramount - i.e., Paramount gets first dibs or first right of refusal on any new property developed by Abrams and BR. I'm not sure how much effect that has on the Star Trek films, if any.

Actually when a movie is categorized as being in "Pre-Production" there usually is full story and script written and everyone had been signed up to make the movie. They are preparing to shoot the movie. I find it unlikely all this happened in secret without even a post on TrekToday, StarTrek.com, or any news site and suddenly pop up on IMDB with only two major actors listed.
Paramount has a good working relationship with JJ Abrams and Bad Robot productions and find it unlikely they will end there deals. That Variety article was from 2012 and only states the contract ends in 2015. This Samurai production thing has not made any major motion pictures which tells me this is something not officially sanctioned by Paramount.
I say we should not be calling this "Star Trek Call of Fleet" video is real or fake yet, give it a few days and see if it gets taken down again.

No, we're done with this

It's more than just unlikely; it hasn't happened. There has been no secret maneuvering. They are not preparing to shoot the movie. When they are ready, after Star Trek Beyond has been released and the next movie has been given an official go-ahead, we will hear about it. But not before then.

The article states that the contract was extended through July 2018.

On this I think we can agree.

Anyone wishing to wait, on the off chance that it might somehow turn out to be real, is free to do so. As a topic of discussion in the Trek XI+ forum, however, I think we're done. Whatever "Star Trek Call of the Fleet" may be, it's been pretty clearly shown that it has no relation whatsoever to the Abrams-produced movies which are discussed in this forum.
