Slightly disappointed that the season-break comes THERE - it makes me wonder if the second season will be the latter bits of the novel padded out for thirteen episodes. Or if they will bring items forward from the second book (you can't even really do the Ganymede Incident until after the events that cap off the end of the first book).

And how Kenzo being alive will factor in.

I'm with Naomi, Amos scares me too, especially with how casually he kills people. Great to have on your side (even if he is a loose cannon), but be careful if he decides to disagree with you!

So, now what? I have more questions now than when the finale began! I think I need to watch it again, just to really nail down where all the threads went.

So, the stealth ship, the weird blue glowing stuff, all the attacks, that was all coordinated and planned by Earth (or at least Earth people/entities), right? Or did I miss something again?

Yes, it would appear that way.

A great finale IMO. Although I think I liked the first hour more... Great to see a long recap, but from Julie's perspective. The 2nd hour was good too, but it did get slightly repetitive when Miller was killing left and right.

No, there is no correlation between seasons and the books, as far as begin and end point. Most likely the start of season 2 will finish up book 1, and then spend most of the time on book 2 plot. And remember, season 1 only had 10 episodes, season 2 has 13 episodes.

Yeah, I hate it when shows have episodes where the characters are wandering corridors or caves for most of an episode. It just bores me. I had to watch the second hour twice because I fell asleep the first time.

I haven't read the books so I'm interested to see what exactly that was at the end of the episode.

No, there's still something like 200 pages worth of material from the first book at the point the finale left off.

There's something that's been bugging me that was particularly noticeable in the last episode. Since Eros is spun up to create artificial gravity, you have to go "down" to get to the docks. When the Roci shed her tanks and broke free of the the clamps, it looked like everything was floating around in zero G inside the dock. Everything wouldn't have dropped straight down, but it should have all been slung out of there.

Oh, and I found some pictures to go along with my earlier observation! I still think it's cool that I have one of these on my desk! (Spoiler tag only because of large images)

The docks are most likely at one of the ends of the axis of rotation. There would be no "gravity" there. Think of the space station in 2001.

That would be inconsistent with them showing gravity at the airlock then, plus the entire journey "down". Miller basically fell on the airlock.

It would have made more sense if that last long ladder they climbed had led "up" to the axis instead of them going down.

This is my take on this show which i have enjoyed so far,

Detective Miller seems quite noir to me. That was rather strange to see in a space drama set in the future but i read somewhere that is how his character was written in the novels. So i am just gonna go with it.

Holden is likeable because he is a reluctant hero. He has common sense and has a heart. He is a good foil for Amos.

Alex Kamal is the light comic relief. He is a pilot and ex Martian Navy serviceman. He is a good supporting character. I like his Martian/Texan accent.

Nagata seems rather mysterious. She is over qualified to have been serving on the Canterbury. I think she has a past which might explain why. A criminal record perhaps. She is the most level headed of the four survivors of the Cant. She is the natural leader of the group.

Amos reminds some of the guys that i knew when i was in the army. He follows orders and uses violence without hesitation. He seems to obey Nagata for now. I think Amos might be ex UN military because for a trained soldier, obeying a superior's commands comes almost easily like breathing.

Juile Mao's character was more fully revealed in the last two episodes. I liked her character but too bad she was killed off before we found out more about her.

Chrisjen Avasarala plays a politican quite well. She eventually got to know about the conspiracy and pretends not to notice it. She is seeing how it plays out.

I am looking forward to seeing more of Fred Johnson, Anderson Dawes and that scientist called Dresden in the next season. I like those characters.

I would have liked to have seen more of that Martian naval officer Lopez. He is a very different Martian to that of Kamal. That would have been an interesting contrast. Too bad he and the Canterbury medic were killed off.

I like the idea of Earth having conflict with her space colonies and Mars being particularly more advanced than Earth herself.

Reminds me of Gundam but without the mechas.

Overall I liked the show. It has been the best sci fi show since NuBSG. It might get better.

We weren't supposed to know that much about her. The character in the tv series is the same as it was in the book - pretty much a plot device.
