Spoilers The Flash - Season 2

Seems fairly straight forward to me - at some stage, either Barry develops timetravel abilities or gets a lift off Rip Hunter.

He already time travels...he's just reluctant to explore that ability.

We've seen the end and the beginning of Barry vs. Thawne, I image that they'll get around to exploring the middle part now that they've established that Thawne's past self still exists in the timeline.

Doubt it. I still get the impression that Zoom is either Earth-2 Barry or, more likely, Barry's father. It's quite suspicion (and kind of a big thing) that neither of them have really been mentioned.

I don't think we're getting Jesse Quick.

There's been an announcement for Trajectory from 52, though.

I enjoyed this one overall, but I did have some issue with it.
The one that bothered me the most was the Barry/Patty story. It already annoyed me that he refused to tell her, even though she was the only person he was close to who didn't know he was The Flash. It just made it worse for me when she figured it out and he still refused to admit it. I really think once she figured it out herself it was kind of ridiculous for him to continue denying it.
The Wests' storyline gave us some nice stuff for each member of the family.
I really liked the stuff with Thawne. I wasn't entirely sure how he survived, but the whole thing with him first encountering the members of Team Flash after they'd already defeated him was a fun little twist.
I'm curious to see if the Hunter Zolomon reveal will have some significance or if it was just a fun little Easter egg for people familiar with the comics.

I wonder if something will happen by the end of the season that will trigger the Speedforce in all the comic book speedsters that showed up this season, or will they just keep it as a bunch of nods...

We already know from the TVLine article that Trajectory will have speed powers.

I was going to say it was an odd coincidence that the STAR Labs explosion gave superspeed powers to multiple different people... but I suppose if any power were going to be granted repeatedly by a particle accelerator, it makes a certain sense that it'd be that one. ;)

Flash is pretty solid right now, to the point where even when the meta threat isn't very compelling it's still enjoyable to watch. Hasn't quite redeemed the tar monster but better than Skin of Evil anyway.

I'm guessing that they picked a weaker "easierly" felled meta-villain to make room for all the family stuff.

Here's an idea. Harry Wells could have just stolen Eobard Thawne's speed last week instead of doing it to Barry this episode.

Gee, what a coincidence that Joe's biological son just happens to have a fascination with speed... (Plus the coincidence that the guy Iris was investigating just happened to be the final victim of the metahuman Barry was investigating.)

And that's got to be one of the most contrived and convoluted ways to murder someone ever devised -- turn the tar of the roadway into a semicircular ramp in order to cause a drag racer's speeding car to reverse direction and become a projectile aimed at the target. What was Tar Pit's civilian name again? Rube Goldberg?

Perhaps the most interesting part was the depiction of Barry's speed-learning ability. So he can pick up temporary expertise by thorough speed-reading, but it only lasts in short-term memory for about half an hour? Interesting. I'd like to see other applications of that. Barry doesn't get to be a scientist often enough. (And it's something that could only really be done with print books. It'd be useless with videos, which don't play sound in fast-forward, and I'm not sure a computer screen or e-reader could refresh fast enough.)

I liked Barry's speech, not only about forgiving Wells, but about recognizing that they couldn't just ignore the danger Zoom posed to Earth-2. That was a nicely superheroic sentiment. And of course it'll be fun to see the team visit Earth-2 next week.

Although as Wells keeps stressing, it's his Earth-1. Maybe they should call them Earth-1 and Earth-A...
