Yes, I am really enjoying the new Iron Man too. This is the Iron Man I want to read about.

Its well written and fun, which the book hasn't felt like in awhile (the last run before this was especially dreadful). I especially liked his interactions with Doctor Strange in this book, just a few small moments, but hilarious

So what's the deal with Alpha Flight these days? I am not up to speed and I just read Captain Marvel #1 (which I enjoyed) and they don't seem to be a Canadian team anymore.

I don't think they've explained it yet. It feels like the writer(s) liked the name "Alpha Flight" for a space team, so they just used it and stuck Puck, Sasquatch and Aurora on the team for fans of the original Alpha Flight. That has lead to weird situations like Sasquatch being in Sasquatch form while flying a ship, even though his form won't protect him from vaccum in an emergency, or making me wonder how exactly Aurora learned to fly a spaceship and when she decided to abandon her job running her brother's sports brand. I'm glad we get a bit of old Alpha Flight on the team, but it seems like a waste of the name.

Hey all, I'm relatively new to the comic side of things (actually, been about two years now, but the first time I've posted in this thread). I wanted to give a pause to avoid any Secret Wars spoilers since I haven't read that yet.

So what books are people reading regularly? Any you really love vs. books that you'd suggest I wait six months for when it's free on Marvel Unlimited?

Yeah, I saw a rumor of that happening. My only experience with Black Knight (this specific one) is when I was binge-reading Captain Britain. I suppose one should give it two months in case there was some kind of production setback, but it's probably canceled. And there's no other British book right now (even if Dane Whitman technically isn't British). Maybe an MI-13 book would be better?

Would be nice to have MI-13 back, but I doubt it fits in the post Secret Wars world. I don't think we're ever going to see Captain Britain, Pete Wisdom, or Faiza Hussein again. 2016 is Cap's 40th anniversary, too.

Frank Tieri is working on at least two other books right now (not Marvel), so who knows? Might just be a delay. But yeah, cancelled is most likely.

I think Faiza Hussain fits in perfectly with the All-New, All-Different Marvel. It's all about passing the torch to a generation that fits more with modernity.

There is no chance Captain Britain won't keep popping up from time to time, he's been around too long. I doubt we'll be getting a Captain Britain book anytime soon, but he was around during events right before Secret wars, and he's not dead. I don't forsee a starring role, but I'm sure he'll be in the background of some book or part of a storyline involving England or his sister Psylocke eventually. Same with his wife Meggan, and other MI-13 related people. 99% of characters big enough to be in a book don't go away in Marvel, even if they're put in comic book limbo and only appear from time to time. Heck, Shamrock has made appearances decades after anyone even remotely paid attention to her. So, Captain Britain will be back, and probably Pete Wisdom eventuall. Faiza is a lot less certain since she's pretty obscure even among obscure heroes, but if they shgow heroes in Britain I could see her being a background character.

I loved CB & MI-13 and wish we got more of it, but even though its gone, the characters haven't been deleted or shunned or anything. Plus, it fits just as well in the "Post Secret Wars" world as it did pre-secret wars. I'm sure it won't come back as it was, but the heroes of Marvel's UK aren't gone.

Faiza was so much more interesting than Ms Marvel. She should come back.

I thought she was pretty cool, and about 1000x better than Ms. Marvel. Unfortunately she was the only main MI-13 character with no history before the series, and I don't recall seeing her after it, so she's probably the only one I could see not showing up again.

Right, because there can only be one Muslim at a time in Marvel Comics?

now seems like a good time to relaunch Excalibur with Captain Britain, Faiza, and some Inhumans and Mutants for giggles and kicks.

She was in the two part Captain Britain and the Mighty Defenders during Secret Wars. Aside from that, she's only appeared in Gambit, New Avengers (Age of Ultron tie in, where she became Captain Britain), and cameos in X-Men: Legacy and Wolverine.

She was also the Black Knight's girlfriend. One thing that bugged me about the Black Knight series is that he seems to have forgotten her. :( They were one of my favorite Marvel couples! I called them "The Dork Knights", because both could be such total dorks. In a cute way, of course!

Uh, no? I was talking about her not appearing because she's a d-list hero (not in a bad way) from a great but under appreciated comic about a team of English heroes who barely interacted with non-UK heroes. The character's religion had nothing to do with it, I was just talking about how characters on a similar popularity/exposure level to her are usually treated by Marvel. I want her to appear, she was an interesting character, but she's not exactly a character you can expect to show up very often, which is a shame. I'd like to see her return in at least a supporting role in a book, and I hope she does. I just don't see it happening any time soon unless we get a UK based Marvel book or something like that.

On a related note, someone should put her, Ms. Marvel, Dust and M in a story together. Somewhat gimmicky, granted, but it would be interesting. They are very different characters which would be interesting to compare and contrast, from Dust who is on the conservative end to Monet who basically does whatever she wants and really we only know her religion because she's mentioned it a few times. It would take a great writer with a good story, but I think it could be a good read, and I'd even stomach Ms. Marvel and her lameness to read it.

I forgot about the Secret Wars book (I read it and it was ok, but the Judge Dredd parody part of it was annoying). Those appearances are about what I'd expect, to be honest. I wish they'd bring back MI-13, or maybe an Avengers International group (which I think is the only brand of Avengers book we haven't gotten in the last few years), and I could see her doing well there.

(Some how magically, and maybe only for right now, and not the future at all) Ms. Marvel is A-List. Well, A-list for comics, I'm just wondering if that will reflect into TV or a movie soon sooner, later or never?

I could see Kamala doing a couple episodes of Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D. :)

Post terrigenesis do Inhumans continue to absorb the ambient terrigen that's poisoning mutantkind? Or do they radiate Terrigen to further poison mutant kind, or do they filter terrigen to increase or decrease the potency of the ambient terrigen in the air poisoning mutants?

When was the last time any one saw Dust?

maybe she was in an X-Book i wasn't reading, but it seems like years since she was a head liner in NOT The New Mutants?

    Xavier's Academy? Oh! Young X-Men.

Wikipedia says she hasn't been around since Schism.

But I'm amazed to be reminded abut how old this character is, she's from the last days of Morrison's run on New X-Men.

Having Ms. Marvel meet Faiza's Captain Britain would probably be the most realistic chance of CB appearing any time soon.

Also, I could see Brian Braddock appearing on a team like the Ultimates. I know it defeats the majority-minority aspect, but it seems like the kind of thing right up his alley.

    Brian is a dirty foreigner.

He doesn't count full points as a White American.

I don't count Faiza as "obscure".

As for the Alpha Flight question...I'm not sure why the writers and editors involved would want to depict Ottawa as letting T'Challa talk them into handing over that brand-name for use in replacing SWORD either.
