Spoilers Timeline of the Voyager Relaunch

Is it somehow possible to edit the thread title? I'd like to call this Timeline of the Voyager Relaunch.
Yep, I can do that for you :)

(Not sure exactly what the edit limits are for everyone in XenForo, but as moderator I can edit things for you :techman:)

The time limit for edits is gone as far as I know. Jinn's problem is that he is too new on the forum, since the ability to edit seems to be restricted for new users.

Thank's for your support. I'll probably just make a new thread if it isn't possible.
EDIT: Nevermind. I have forgotten to refresh the page. Thanks trampledamage!

I know Idran has a different approach, but I haven't taken the time to examine his conclusions. His may be another good option.
Do you know where I can find Idran's conclusion. I searched the forums for "Idran" "Unworthy" and "Children of the Storm" but couldn't find it.

That's copied out of my timeline spreadsheet; basically rather than moving things backwards into May like Ryan did, I moved them forwards into July. It's been a while since I've read those, though, so I'm not positive it hangs together; I know those books were tricky to line up properly.

Wow, Idran, some bits of your timeline format are surprisingly similar to my own, like the "Date based on..." notes and the order of the columns (series abbreviation, title and chapters, date, stardate, notes). Although you have a few columns I don't, and our date formats are different (yours probably works better for a spreadsheet; mine was a table in a word-processor document until fairly recently).

I think he mentioned it to me privately once. Perhaps he'll pop in here soon and explain.

@ryan123450: FYI If you want to "summon" a user, with XenForo there now is the @ function. If you use the @ in front of the username the user gets an alert that he was mentioned in the thread, for example you should've gotten an alert for this post (actually two, one for being quoted, one for being mentioned).

Date format is more general habit for me, really. I tend to use YYYY-MM-DD for all my personal date stuff - anything where it isn't expected to be in a specific different format - because it sorts easily.

Wow your timeline in general is so well done Idran. Tons better and more specific than mine.

Nice! Thanks for the tip!

My timeline looks very ugly compared to yours.. And mine is coloured.. Mainly so that I don't have to add the series names. Also my timeline lacks the "reason" columns...
In less off-topic news I think that moving them forward would cause some overlapping with The Eternal Tides timeframe as given in its Historians Notes.
Fan Fact: In chapter 6 of german translation of Unworthy ("Unwürdig") the Borg Invasion wasn't a little more than five months but rather nearly five months ("knapp 5 Monate") ago.

I have both series abbreviations and color-coding, since it's easier to distinguish the different series that way. Although I added the color-coding fairly late in the game. (Originally my timeline was pencil and paper. I had to do a ton of erasing and rewriting.)

Also my timeline lacks the "reason" columns...

Mine aren't nearly as systematic as Idran's -- just when I feel a clarification or explanation is needed.

Oh, mine has color-coding, I just left that column out; mine's by media, though, not series. The first column in mine is Novel (Orange)/E-Book (Light-Orange)/Show (Blue)/Movie (Light-Blue)/Comic (Pink).

As for Eternal Tide, I honestly just ignored the "August" part of the Historian's Notes, having it be from September 2nd to 12th, but moving things backwards instead might be a way to recover both, yeah, though the Borg Invasion note in Unworthy does get in the way of that a little bit. Still, I suppose you could squeak things a couple days up and interpret "August and September 2381" as being something like very late August? Just a day or two in August or so?

Oh, sorry for the double-post, but I just noticed this, Jinn:

I couldn't find the chapter where he was promoted/first mentioned so but it happened somewhere in AoC (If I remember rightly. I read AoC and Protectors in a short period of time so they kinda blurred together.

This was first mentioned in Chapter 26 of Protectors, right near the end of the chapter, and actually happened a day or two after Chapter 27 according to Paris near the start of that chapter. And this might be another English/German translation hiccup, but the English version of Atonement specifically says "a little more than a hundred days" in that line.

Unfortunatly in Germany we are still awaiting the release of The Eternal Tide next month. I made my notes in German but translated them later to post them here. Soo. Double translation for the win.

I was sceptical at first but your conclusion is further supported by chapter 6 (page 78) of A Pocket Full of Lies. It states that the launch of the Full Circle Fleet is one year ago placing it in June of 2381 and therby supporting the possibily of placing Unworthy and CotS forward rather than backward

Prologue
  • 3 days after Micheals birth
    • chapter 8 of AoC states that Micheal will be born in about 6 moths (page 133). (This would place the prologue in about July or more likely in late June)
3. Chapter
  • Same day as First Contact with the Nyhildron(chapter 2)
  • 8 months after Janeways resurrection
    • Janeway was resurrected in Chapter 19 (page 177) of TET. (This would place this in May)
4. Chapter
  • Voyager has been in orbit for 2 days
5. Chapter
  • A few days ago since the First Contact with the Rilnar (page 62)
6. Chapter
  • Janeway died at Stardate 57445 (page 77-78)
    • This could reffer to both her becoming the Borg Queen or the destruction of the Evolved Borg Cube in Before Dishonor
  • “Shattered” (Voy 7x11) takes place ~6 months before “Endgame” (Voy 7x25 & 7x26) (page 78) (54973.4 2377|December|22)
  • 1 year after the launch of the Full Circle Fleet (page 78)
    • This would place chapter 6 in June of 2382
  • “Shattered” took place at Stardate 54391 (2377|May|23) (page 79)
  • “Before and After” (Voy 3x21) took place on Stardate 50786.1 (2373|Oktober|14) (page 83)
8. Chapter
  • The Full Circle Fleet spend the last months with the Confederacy (page 95-96)
  • Natasha is “a little” over 6 months old (page 97)
    • Natasha was born in the epilogue of Over a Torrent Sea which took place before stardate 58590.2 (2381|August|4) which would place this chapter in February of 2381 if you ignore tha "a little"
  • It takes a couple of days from the Delta-Quadrant to the Beta-Quadrant (page 101)
  • “A few nights” ago Kim and Conlon spend time on the holodeck (page 102)
  • Conlon spend the “better part of” 2 days cleaning up her mind/personal space stuff… (page 103)
    • I interpret this as that Conlon was angry at Kim after they were spending time together and that this is set two days after their discussion on the holodeck in chapter 7
11. Chapter
  • Velth spend 2 days on Lillestan (page 141)
12. Chapter
  • Voyager encountered the Krenim on Stardate 51268.4 (page 156)
14. Chapter
  • Tuvok wakes up(page 173)
    • Tuvok went to sleep on page 155/chapter 12, therefor 1 (local) night has passed between chapter 12 and 14
  • 4 days after Tuvok saved denzit Janeways life (page 182)
15. Chapter
  • Multiple weeks passe since O’Donnels and Ichebs last “conversation” (page 195)
17. Chapter
  • The Doctor relieved Janeway in the Year of Hell at stardate 51558.6 (2374|July|23) (page 217)
  • Tuvoks team searched for intelligence on Zahl shields for 18 hours (page 223)
18. Chapter
  • 2. time in 2 weeks that Vesta enters Krenim space (page 226)
24. Chapter
  • Cambridge spent “the better part” of last week with researching Batibeh (page 307)
25. Chapter
  • 10 days ago the Rilnar and the Zahl started negotiations (page 319)
  • Vesta has had activated temporal shields for 1 and a half weeks (page 230)
Maybe Kirsten doesn't use the same system of stardate calculation as the site Christopher reffers to on his Watching the Clock annotations page.

I think Kirsten mentioned something once on TrekBBS along the lines of sort of handwaving dates in her books because she doesn't honestly keep heavy track of it while outlining and writing? It came up when someone was asking about the relative timing of Unworthy and CotS, I think.

Edit: Okay, I went out to find the post to make sure I wasn't mischaracterizing/misremembering what she said, and I did so apologies for that; it wasn't that she doesn't, but that a lot of time had passed between the two so details had slipped from her mind. Here's the post: http://www.trekbbs.com/threads/voyager-kirsten-beyer-novel-timeline.218284/#post-8324899
