Let's stick with the original standards for this one. We can update to Xenforo standards for the next one. Hello, new TrekBBS!

And a correction, the avatar image size has increased to 200x200 and the file size to 1MB. It's resized for display as 96 x 96.

Best. Trek opening. Ever.

But what do we go with? I just started seeing this message a few hours ago today:

Premium memberships are available again. For USD$25 for one year you will receive no banners, access to a premium members' lounge, slightly larger signature and avatar file size and - new for 2016 - access to all rank lounges. Click your name in the top right then 'account upgrades' to begin your journey to awesomeness.

Which automatically appears in a green box around the top of the forum. Which sometimes appears with text, or sometimes just as an empty green box -- thank goodness for the new improved XenForo.

So, do we go with the new and improved itsy bitsy teeny weeny 96x96, or what ever slightly larger size avatars Premium Members get? I thought I read that larger avatar sizes would again require moving to a new server, but I guess PM's money somehow surpasses that.....

By the way, anybody noticed the error in avatar image size details? It's 96x96, but if you right-click and select Properties, it says 100x100.

Well, it does say *file size*, which doesn't necessarily mean that the actual display size is going to be any different. Although I'm not really sure what that would gain you then, since they can't be animated.

(And I thought it was just that changing the default av size would have required modding the software, not moving to a different server? I could be misremembering though.)

Not sure what you mean by this. If I right-click someone's av and select "View Image Info", it says the image is 96 x 96.

Yeah, it's not really clear what file size is. But hey -- for just $25 a month you can have a slight increase. ;-)

If I right-click on any avatar and select Properties, it says 100x100. Using Windows.

Can this be from opening credits from a TV series?

It's be hard trying to come up with a film, 'cause so many good films don't have any iconic shots in the first frames.

Great entries, everyone. Entries are still open until the end of day tomorrow for anyone still interested.

Orac and Klaus, could you just clarify what yours are for me? Not, uh, not that I don't know, you understand... I just, um, want to be sure that you know, yeah, that's the ticket... :shifty:
