Since we'll a couples into 2016, I thought it might be fun to do pick some best of Trek Lit categories for last year. I haven't read anything from last year myself, so I won't be voting. This thread is for writers . I'm going off of the list on Memory Beta, so I believe this will be using the publication date. I'll be including authors who wrote E-novellas and full length novels. I'll be doing other threads for comics, official non-fiction real world and in universe, series, and novels and e-books. Please vote just based on the writer's listed credit for this year, not previous books. You can pick only 1 option, and the poll will close in 2 Weeks. Which ever writers has the most votes at the end will be the unofficial best writer of 2015.
Writers:
John Jackson Miller (TNG: Takedown)
Tony Daniel (TOS: Savage Trade)
Scott Harrison (TOS: Shadows of the Machine)
Christopher L. Bennett (ENT RotF: Uncertain Logic)
Dave Galanter (TOS: Crisis of Consciousness)
Dayton Ward (TNG: Armageddon's Arrow)
David R. George III (DS9: Sacraments of Fire and Ascendance)
Peter David (The Returned Pt 1 -3)
David Mack (SKRs: Long Shot)
Kirsten Beyer (VOY: Atonement)
James Swallow (TTN: Sight Unseen)
Paula M. Block and Terry J. Erdman (Costumes: Five Decades of Fashion from the Final Frontier)
Dayton Ward and Kevin Dilmore (SKRs: All That's Left)
Greg Cox (TOS: Child of Two Worlds)
David Goodman (The Autobiography of James T. Kirk: The Story of Starfleet's Greatest Captain)

Too bad that it isn't multiple choice. So my vote goes to KMFB, thanks to Atonement. But I had to take the last year into account, so it's well-deserved.

If you vote could you please post something, so we can keep the thread active while the poll is open.

I voted Dave Galanter.

I loved CoC and, it's been so long since his excellent Troublesome Minds, I'd really missed his fast-paced prose style and character work.

JJM. KB is a great author and all her Voyager novels are pure delight but JJM came in and hit the ground running and I really liked his novel and he mixed things up a bit, making it feel fresh and exciting.

So Kirsten Beyer rocks this poll, with Christopher as runner-up.

I really couldn't make up my mind easily as there so many great writers..... Next year, next chance :)

I'd just like to say thanks to everyone participating in these polls. I know it's just a bit of fun, but it's also really moving to see the response and outpouring of affection for the Voyager series and the work I've done. Made my day.

Best always,
KMFB
