Alec Peters just posted this in the Facebook Fans of Axanar group:

Alec Peters Hey guys, don't sweat, Rob is in a bit if a depression about this and I think his words are ill chosen. We haven't shut anything down and no one is going anywhere.
That is some fine tap-dancing there.

OR... Rob is trying to distance himself from all this...
Wouldn't be the first time a 2nd in command has jumped ship leaving the captain all alone to fend for himself, right ?

Alright, screw what I said before about Peters realizing he has no options. I forgot "denial" was an option.

You hearing anything new? Interesting that Burnett posts his Instagram within an hour of The Wrap running their "no way out" article on Axanar.

Remember that Iraq news reporter during the Gulf war what said there are no Americans invading Bagdad, even thought there clearly were. Alec seems like that guy.

I've heard--and this is coming secondhand, but I think the source is reliable--that Burnett has known it's been over for days. Another source said to me the other day there would inevitably be a break between Burnett and Peters.

Well if Alec did not shut Indidgogo down, maybe Indie finally came to there senses and did.

Alec further posted this on the Axanar Fan Group Facebook page:

Oh, but we are shuting down the Indiegogo for the time being till we have a good meeting with our lawyers!

I'll bet they are!

Sweet Jesus, Alec knows less about P.R. than he does about being a goddamn producer. This is hilarious.

I don't imagine that they've had a good meeting with their lawyers for a while.

Thanks, oswriter.

Spin Spin Spin, there's nothing to see here, full steam ahead
( meanwhile )
The boat is taking on water, the deck chairs have been rearranged, and the band is playing...

Hey all, here are some updates:

1) We are in deep talks with one of the top 20 IP firms in the country who is very interested in taking our case pro-bono. This is VERY exciting. The quality of lawyers we are talking with who want to represent us is amazing. This is a very high profile case with a high profile defendant and unsettled law.

2) We are all meeting every day about the way to move forward. As I have said before, you the donors are our PRIMARY focus. What will you like? What do you expect? How freaking cool are you guys to be so supportive!

3) Really, all your love is keeping us fired up!

4) Don't believe the haters. I have heard so many outrageous lies that today we were trying to top each other in the office reading our FB feeds, laughing about the lies.

5) We have stopped taking donations on our Indiegogo as we don't want to mislead anyone with the uncertainty!

Keep your chins up soldiers! We are pretty fired up at the studio, so you should be too!

Alec
They're getting a bit lightheaded down in the bunker.

Oops, ninja'd by Ryan.

Which is why they left the Indiegogo active for the past couple of weeks and didn't even add the note about the lawsuit until a couple of days ago.

This has quickly gone from being funny to just sad. Honestly, I wish Robert Burnett and everyone else from Axanar well, and I sincerely hope they don't let Alec Peters and his ego drag them all down. Because at this point, that's all this is: an ego trip.

They're in talks with a law firm? They've had a week!

Neil

Not just talks, DEEP talks. Because law firms are eager to devote hundreds of unpaid hours to an unwinnable case.

(And yes, I know all lawyers do some degree of pro bono work; I just don't know why they'd use their good will on this case and this defendant.)
