Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

So... nothing about the HGH?

I guess his wife really did need it...

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Yeah. Have to say I'm surprised. I figured he'd get one more season. So many changes happened last season that I thought he'd need a season to gel. As bas as the team was, it felt like firing him would make them worse next season.

Nope, gotta please the fans and media (ESPN [Steven A] included)

Two 10-win seasons out of 3 and he's out.

Why?

I know, does anyone else?

I haven't followed it to be honest.

Do you think it's true? Even the ESPN dudes say the source was questionable at best. That's about all I heard.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

I think that thing with Manning is total bullshit.

Story update

But investigative reporter Deborah Davies felt the need to reiterate one major point of the documentary, The Dark Side, as she spoke with NBC’s Today show Tuesday about “the very short section at the end everybody has picked up on.”

"The only allegation in the program from Charlie Sly is that growth hormone was sent repeatedly from Guyer (Institute) to Ashley Manning in Florida,'' Davies said. "We're not making the allegation against Peyton Manning."

The report was based on statements made by Sly, a former employee of the Indianapolis-based Guyer Institute who has since retracted the claims made against Manning and other athletes. Those "extraordinary claims" included "whether an American sporting hero, Peyton Manning, is linked to performance-enhancing drugs."

The documentary, which didn't outright say Manning used performance-enhancing drugs, points out that HGH is banned by the NFL and explained how the NFL Players Association initially pushed back on the implementation of the blood test that detects the synthetic drug, leaving viewers to draw their own conclusions.

Manning and his wife, Ashley, were patients of the Guyer Institute.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Well, my Steelers did it again...

...played to the level of the competition...

...and lost to a team they should have easily beat.

Thank you.

Yeah, if you mean playing UP to the level of the competition.:devil::)

Well, I guess when you get to the point where your best lineman is pulling himself out of a game saying I'm not fucking playing for this lost cause, maybe you've got some locker room problems.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

About Chip Kelly, the story I read said that the owner initially wanted to take away Kelly's personnel power, but Kelly refused thereby necessitating the termination.

So it really isn't just a straight up "we're fed up after the first losing season, so you're fired", kind of thing.

When I started reading that he might be in trouble I thought that at the most they'll remove his GM powers and then see how it goes next season, like they usually do in these types of cases. Sounds like he forced ownership's hand in the matter.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Well, Kelly won a power struggle and achieved full personnel control last year. He proceeded to trade or dismiss many of the Eagles' best players and then lost the locker room and the team has become a shitshow over the past few weeks. Given the saltiness of Lurie's statement, Kelly also must have said or done something to really infuriate Lurie.

Honestly, I don't know why the Eagles gave Kelly GM powers. Outside of Belichick, I can't think of another coach who has succeeded as a GM at the same time outside of maybe Parcells, and he did some pretty boneheaded stuff on his own. Giving full personnel control to a college gimmick guy with literally two years of pro experience was boneheaded, too.

He did worse every season. Ten wins and made the playoffs, ten wins and missed the playoffs, sub-500 record. I don't personally agree with the decision (I thought he should have one more chance), but it's not a difficult situation to understand.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Pettine is out in Cleveland according to multiple reports.

Lord, this season is already a bloodbath and I worry we won't get the joy of Black Monday. Whisenhunt, Philbin and Kelly are already gone, Pettine is waiting for his pink slip, Pagano is already unofficially out in Indianapolis, Caldwell is almost certainly out in Detroit since they'll be getting a new GM, and every sign in the universe is pointing to a Sean Payton divorce from New Orleans. Usually there's always one out-of-nowhere sacking, but I guess Kelly might have fulfilled that role.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

On that note, I'm reading some rumors that Tom Coughlin will resign on Monday, but I don't think that's confirmed or official yet.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Coughlin rumors are always weird. Dude's been predicted to be on a flaming hot seat for something like the past five years.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

WTF is going on with the Patriots? Home field or no home field, if they play like this they won't get far in the playoffs.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Ugh. Flat would be an understatement there. Although I guess to be fair, they prioritized health over winning, and rested a LOT of key pieces (or didn't rush them back), so that wasn't quite a real look at the team. Figured they'd rather not lose anyone else, and they get a bye no matter what, so worst case, they are the #2 seed, and if the #1 seed wins out, they have to travel once if they get that far. Keep losing people at the rate they had been, #1 or #2 wouldn't matter, they were losing the first round they played in.

Would have preferred they win, or at least show some life, but I can see why they wouldn't kill themselves over it. Just hoping SD puts in some effort today, I guess.

Jets blew it, so Steelers are in too.

He's retiring

The Patriots aren't that good.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

The Bears lost, again, but only managed the #10 pick. They can't even suck right.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

#HTTR #HAILYEAH :D

I hope the Redskins make it to The Superbowl! :bolian:
