Just got it! Gotta finish the latest Titan novel before I dive in

 

Intensely curious. I'm one of the biggest defenders of DRGIII on this forum I think, but even I was underwhelmed with Sacraments Of Fire. So, I really hope this will be a satisfying end the the Ascendance storyline.

 

Ditto I'm really curious as to how this story will wrap up the various storylines in the previous book that left us major cliff hangers ,Like Odo's storyline I can't wait to see what happens next. I've been looking forward to getting this book for a very long time.

 

Picked this up at my local Chapters on Dec.23rd. Currently at pg 170ish...very good so far!

 

Doe it contain massive amounts of filler and exposition for what seems a pointless endeavour in just upping the word count?

 

The first 150 pages moved along at a fast and engaging clip...

I'd say "moved along at a fast and engaging clip" precludes filler for uping page count, but one man's treasure etc...

Ask a clear question, I'd say. One man's 'massive amounts of filler and exposition' is another's glorious and perfect novel.

 

I did ask a very clear question. Either there is lots of text explaining events of what happened in the past or there isn't, it doesn't come down to personal taste.

 

No, you asked 'massive amounts of filler and exposition'. That shows opinion, something others might not share. Asking if there are long texts explaining events, is asking for a fact. The latter makes more sense.

 

I asked if there was any, either there is or isn't.

 

Your original question was asked in a sarcastic fashion, with your opinions about how the author does his work influencing the way you stated it. Someone who feels differently than you do, but perhaps not sharing said opinion, answers in a way that does not suite you. You reply kinda snarky. The second way of stating your request is more grounded in a factual way of asking for information.

If I honestly need to explain this again, I give up.....

 

No it wasn't, I generally asked, no sarcasm was meant and if you inferred that, it's all on you.

Yawn, I feel the same to be honest, I asked a question, you yourself have wrongly inferred why I asked and in the manner I asked.

I don't care if the book goes along at a good clip, hopefully it does, but all I was asking was, is there huge amounts of exposition, exposition like in the Sarcriments was wholely unneeded, which yes is my opinion, but either there is half a page of exposition (or back story or whatever you want to call it) like in the previous book for every line of dialogue or there bloody well isn't.

 

Okay that's enough. Please stop with the argument about whether KingstonTrekker answered Dimesdan's question or not.

If anyone wants to pass comment on whether there is filler in the novel or not, then go for it - discussions about the book, please.
