Okay guys, the new trailer has just officially launched. I dedicate this thread to the analysis of the trailer and your assumptions. Anyone who wants to say that he likes/dislikes it or any of the previous films is welcomed to post his opinions in another thread. I hope the moderators will comply. Let's begin...
Beyond Teaser Trailer Analysis

at 0:26 you can clearly see that Pine ejects from the Enterprise with its registry number 1701, which remaining saucer can be seen at 0:30. Can anyone tell me where the scene at 1:06 is located) When presumably Kirk is thrown by one of the evil characters? Is it on the Enterprise?
Pretty sure we'll make it back to the Enterprise saucer at some point in the film.
Why do we need a separate thread for the trailer?
-Well, Enterprise on her Five Year Mission, encounters strange black cloud.
-Strange black cloud is not a cloud at all but thousends of small dart ships.
-Dart ships attack Enterprise, cut her in half, leaving the discusssegment tumbling down the planet.
-Crew leaving the ship with escape pods, Kirk and the others are the last ones, getting somehow seperated from the others.
-Hot Alien Warrior Chick, sees the Ship crashing and propably Kirks Escape Pod, thinking, Yay, finally some hot Alien Warrior guy.
-Crew are held prisoners by bad guy miners.
-Kirk encounters Hot Alien Warrior Chick. Insert background explenation of the bad guys here. She leads him to her own super secret crash landed Starship and they start to work together to reach the rest of the crew and to escape the planet, somehow preventing the bad guys, from... whatever the bad guys are planning to do. Bad Guy stuff perhaps.
Also, there's a Starfleet outpost under attack. Maybe at the beginning. Insert lot's of explosions and cool one-liners and you have it.

Second one is really funny and most true-life situations come down to this.

Then at 1:00 this Starfleet personnel wears different uniforms.
Perhaps the Yorktown-Crew some fans speculated earlier?

Hm, it's just a guess of course. I get a mining operation vibe from the alien installations on the surface.
It was being discussed in the Star Trek Beyond thread. Which has existed for several weeks.
Oh, well. then now we have 3 threads. well this one is for anyone who wants to figure out what this movie is about. insulting other people for their opinions and disturbing factfinding discussions is not welcomed here. That's new.
My guesses:
New base on the frontier gets attacked by the bad guys who don't want the Federation there.
Enterprise comes to help and is taken down by the Swarm. The crew survives but most are taken captive on the planet.
Kirk and the command team evade capture. Kirk teams up with Boutella's character to fight the bad guys. Though I'm willing to bet they don't get along at first.
Somewhere along the line they will get a ship. ( or cobble one together)

Me too. This scene stands alone. It must have some deeper meaning to it.
So Kirk would not only try to find a way out of his misery, but have to save the federation again.
could that city be San Francisco, considering all the Starfleet personnel?
