Star Wars: Episode VII: The Nerd Rage Awakens

[yt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_AckgwzB1s&feature=youtu.be[/yt]

New Williams music!

There may be tears in my eyes!

The first taste of the first new Star Wars movie score in over 10 years. So delicious and so good.

Also, other big news today. This is purportedly from the Art of TFA book due out next week. Someone was able to snap a pic from a copy they got a hold of. This could potentially put a damper on some of the identity of a certain Supreme Leader in fandom... Although in some circles, I'm not certain that'll happen. Regardless...

Like I said, purportedly. It could be quite legit. It might be a lie. If it's so, he doesn't look very Muun-ish to me. Although I will admit, as Plagueis' race is no longer canon, I'm still not denying the possibility Snoke is Plagueis. I'm just saying it's hurting the argument. Admittedly, also this could be an early design and not the final.

Interesting...

The one on the left I like a lot, especially the "ghoul" aspect of it. It is very haunting, and could be very unique. The second one has too much of a Palpatine from ROTJ for me to be as excited, but I think both could be very well done with Serkis' talented voice behind it

I think this is the first photo we have of the guys from The Raid in TFA. The guy on the left could play a Klingon.

Tasu Leech is a mini-figure included in one of the new Lego TFA sets. His name was revealed a while back when the earliest images of the new toys started appearing online.

I get the feeling that his design played a role in creating the visual look of Kylo Ren. J.J. and the producers are aware of the old Expanded Universe and there are likely others in the crew who are familiar with the novels, comics and video games.

Yeah, I like the one on the left better too
.

The 60 Minutes segment is showing some of the soundtrack recording sessions and there's a slightly new arrangement of the main Star Wars theme.

I missed tonight's show. Is it a different arrangement for the opening theme that plays over the title crawl or just a new version that plays at different points during the film as background music?

It's hard to tell, they weren't doing it to a screening of the scene. I think the 60 Minutes web site has more of the session though. The theme seemed to have more horns in it though. And Abrams was filming the session on his cell phone, which was kind of funny.

The People magazine TFA special edition there's a picture of Abrams and Kennedy at the controls of the Falcon and the ships now has yokes to control it.
