I still wonder if there's any connection between Doctor #11/Room #11 and Doctor #12/Room #12.

As said, it was already answered. That being said, I've never liked the answer and still prefer my impression when the episode aired: the mortality of his companions. That idea correlates well with the notion of The Doctor's faith comes from his companions.

Aside from both being labeled the same number as the official numerical designation of the current Doctor, what other connection could there be?
